Sounds like this is a crazy expensive process so not every swinging dick in their moms basement can own one at this point. Still pretty damn cool though.

Awesome tech. Should make innovations and experiments a lot easier to manufacture, albeit more expensive...

I still don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about a different ability to manufacture firearms. We are ALL perfectly legal to manufacture a firearm, without telling ANYONE. As long as we don't sell it.


The day of the Start Trek "replicator" is still a ways off... but it's getting closer.

1) The longer-term prospect of every old / out of service gun having access to brand new spare parts is really interesting.

2) As is the potential diffusion of manufacturing of "force". Fascinating.
