Bird numbers are down I would guess by 1/3 from what they were the last 10 years but still strong. We have some ridiculous habitat on our farm since we got out of the cattle business and just have it now for game (deer, pheasant, grouse, moose, antelope). We put in 50 acres of game plot mixed into our fields and leave it for winter forage(usually corn or peas). On a winter morning we will have 200 roosters and 30 head of deer grazing in our farmyard!

One of my fondest hunting memories is hunting pheasants in SD with brothers, dad, uncles, and grandpa. Amazing fun, thanks for the kindling memories.
