Cleaning Your Muzzle Brake

Muzzle brakes do not need to be cleaned often. You can if you want, but it's not needed. When they get truly nasty after 1000+ rounds, take them off and soak them in CLR or Simple Green. They will clean right up.

I guess I'm wondering about all the crap that comes out with the patches and brushing, and mucks around inside the brake.

I've been taking mine off, and blasting them with brake cleaner. But I'm thinking it's overkill.

Every 500 rds +- take off soak in high concentration of lemishine /water in a small cup overnite. I used to do the qtips too but found it easier to just spin it back on barrel and blast crud out with scrap rds i had. Shoot it ,if theres anything left soak another nights shoot rinse and your done

I clean nine every time I clean the rifle with Mpro7. I shoot suppressed and it very dirty and that stuff builds up and hardens. It doesn't tlong at all and if you stay on top of it, it takes even less time,
