Some of it was staged and they certainly had to edit it down but pretty realistic.

Any ArcticLight soldier would tell you to avoid geothermal vents, moisture in the arctic is a death sentence...

I do watch this, but do take issue with some of it.

1st off, "Jake" is a giant D-bag. He was on Top Shot and walked off the show in a hissy fit. Was very embarrassing and I find him really annoying.

Secondly I wish they'd be a little more honest about the setup. This week's show they "kidnapped" one of the guys in California and put a bag on his head. Alledgedly he kept that bag on his head and didn't change clothes or eat until they dropped him off in the wilds of Finland. That's at least 14 hours later. I would be perfectly happy if they would be honest about the actual set-up. It doesn't make the challange any easier.

I'll probably keep watching though, I like most of the "survival" shows.

You have to know that a lot of that is staged.......it's reality TV!

IT's still good entertainment. The British SAS guy that went into the glacier south of Anchoragte earned my respect, he did it all right - been there, done that. I know how hard it is moving through that crap, especially dehydrated and out of energy.

Navy Seal screwed up BIG TIME, I cringed when I saw him setting up camp on top of a steam vent, because now it is like a drug, wet and warm but you can't leave it. He recovered though and did it nicely.

Yeah, I was not thrilled when Jake appeared on my television. I like the show, but his little tantrum on Top Shot makes me hope he that he'll get caught in an avalanche.
