Rifle Scopes New glass for each rifle.

I prefer good glass on each gun, but I have bounced a couple optics between some ARs. It's a pain, even if you have good notes. Would not want to show up to a match having moved the optic without confirming zero.

Usually I only mount glass if there are no iron sights, as in most bolt rifles nowadays. If I do mount glass it stays with the rifle until replaced with something better, as my mere mortal income will allow.

Hunting rifles - get Weaver base, TPS rings and mid-range-priced scope. I can rotate the scopes if needed for a certain application (not very often).

Match rifles - get TPS base, all share one Sightron SIII 10-50x60 in TPS rings. I have a note pad with 100/300/600 yard zero for each rifle (and bullet combo). Right now 6 rifles share this one scope and haven't had a single problem with zero (I usually confirm the 100 yard zero before the match - but it seems to be unnecessary anymore).

With this setup - I can test rifles with proven scopes and test scopes on proven rifles.

I started with the "grand plan" of ponying up the money for the BEAST and swapping it between rifles, "saving" myself lots of money. That plan of course went in the toilet as nice rifles arrived and the BEAST didn't; so now I have nice glass on everything. The BEAST will end up going on an as-yet-unbuilt future rifle the way things are going now with the BEAST and its STILL undetermined release.

I don't like swapping scopes and rezeroing all the time. I buy top quality scopes for each rifle. If the right deal hasn't come along, I wait until it does and the rifle sits.

At nearly $4000 for another new S$B 5-25 with a H-59 I'm forced to switch between rifles a lot. I do have some cheaper scopes but I really despise them now, LOL. That frikken S&B has absolutely ruined me! I am however constantly scamming a way to get myself into another.

Went from Mark IV to USO then to S&B. The PMII's will ruin you so now the rife sits until I can scrap enough funds to get one from the classifieds.
On hunting rigs I usually go with a Swarvoski or a cheaper Leupold as the range is only 50-100 yards engagements but on Match rifles you need to be able to see the target to hit it.

Just my 2 cents.
