I'm looking to mount an IR laser on my Benelli SBE 12 gauge shot gun so I can shoot 3.5" shells in combination with my my helmet mount pvs14 Any suggestion on an IR laser that would hold up to shot gun recoil, and how would you mount it if there's not a rail?

Most lasers aren't terribly recoil sensitive. What are you shooting with 3.5" shells? I hate the recoil of them, it seems like (to a wuss like me) they kick several times harder than stout 3" loads. I know even the UniMax IR will handle the recoil of 3" loads, so I would think about anything else would handle 3.5's.
I can't speak for the OP, but I shoot 3.5" Dead Coyote loads outta my SBE because they'll turn a coyote inside out like a tube sock.
Wanting it for a night time set up for coyotes. I have access to a place I've been dreaming about dawg hunting for years, they are gonna let me in but with a shot gun only cause it very close to houses they are letting me hunt cause the yotes are coming in the yards harassing pets. so I'm wanting an IR laser to coincide with my PVS 14 helmet mount to hunt at night
Laser devices has a stand alone focus able illuminator. I got to play with one. I thought it would be killer to focus it for your pattern. Just light them up and bang!
I know a dbal d-2 IR won't hold up to the recoil. If I'm understanding, don't use a laser just a focus able IR. Focus it to the shot pattern say 50 yards or so?
Looks like the 26mm rail adapter is the real deal for a shot gun, but will the SPIR hold up to the recoil?
