A Navy buddy and I are thinking about a NFA trust. If we are both on the trust living in the same state can we store the suppressors at two separate locations?

You'll need to do a form 20 if the location changes 'permanently'. If its a 'temporary' in state move then no federal notification is needed.

The trust has to have a permanent address attached to it. But if both of you are listed as trustors or trustees, then you both are legally allowed to be in possession of the item. And you are allowed to be in possession of it outside of the trusts permanent address. So as long as it's in your possession, I would think you could have it at any location you want.

The ability of more than one person to use the class 3 item is one of the key advantages of the trust. My (limited) understanding is that you may need permission to move the item out of your state though.

In Texas, the trust does not have to have a permanent address attached to it.
Its situs is in the state of Texas. If you move within the state of Texas, you do not have to file a change of address form with the ATF. However, they would like you to do so.
You may have items in other states. The proper forms must be filed with the ATF allowing travel out of the state in which the trust has its Situs (generally this is the address on the form 1 or 4).
The trust, like a corporation, may operate in multiple states. When operating in a foreign state, the trust must observe that states laws. The trust may also permanently change its Situs to another state. If the trust does that, it essentially becomes a creature of that states laws and must follow and conform to that states trust law.
