I have a Minox MD 62, it seems like good glass, but have been wondering about the Vortex Viper. What are your thoughts on these spotters, should I sell the Minox and go Vortex, or is the Minox a better spotter? I use it for general long range shooting, F-class and hunting.

I have had a Minox MD 62 ED for a number of years. I have always been very impressed with it and many of my hunting or shooting buddies that had used it have expressed the same.
I recently bought a Zeiss Diascope 85T* and did a quick comparison. Honestly I cant say the the Zeiss is worth the money over the Minox at this point. I will need to spend more time behind the Zeiss but right now it does not stand out like I expected it to.
I think the Minox is one of the best bargains for anyone looking for an optic that delivers excellent performance on par with scopes that cost much more.

I have the 21-42 LER eye-piece and definitely recommend it. The eyebox is very forgiving which is nice for field use and hunting in less than perfect setups. With the Zeiss I literally have to jam my eye inyo the lens to get a full field of view.

I have several Minox instruments (scope, binos, monocular, and spotter) and they are all leaders in their price range.
With optics in general you get to level (95% or so) where spending two or three times as much is required to see a small improvement.
I replaced a Vortex Razor HD 20-60x85 with a Zeiss Diascope 20-75x85 FL T and the difference was very small, a tiny bit of brightness advantage to the Zeiss, and of course another 15x.

If I didn't have optics ADD I'd have just returned the Zeiss.

I doubt you will see much if any improvement over the MD62 in a Viper spotter.
