So the moron retard-sires with their little spawn who should apparently be living their lives in plastic gerbil ball bubbles.... have come up with a new way for everyone to feel special! Teal Pumpkins... for houses that only give out 'safe treats' on Halloween for the 'tards.

https://www.foodallergy.org/education-awareness/teal-pumpkin-project

If you are going to cater to these little morons (more likely their parents who are now so proud that they have a 'special' child), you just put a big teal pumpkin out in front of your house and you will draw in the Darwinistically-unfit (kids and parents) for miles.

I think I'll put one out and serve Peanut Brittle and prawns.

Cheers,

Sirhr

Every time I think “gee, what’s next”, they continue to astound me with what they invent.
Just another manifestation of our ever escalating victimhood. Now they’ll have another excuse why they can’t do something or why we have to change something that’s been around for years.
I understand change is constant but I’m sick of dealing with these microcosms of people who feel they’re “special” or are living their lives finding people’s traditions, religions or heritage to piss on.

Teal pumpkins? Maybe teal gourds?

I have a kid with a severe peanut allergy. Everyone here knows how to deal with it. There are peanuts and items contaminated with peanuts everywhere, so we decided our house would be no different. Having a peanut free home, then sending him out in a world with peanuts everywhere seemed like the wrong way to teach him.

He was severely allergic (would swell up and couldn't breathe) until we found a dr that could treat him by building up a tolerance. If anyone needs info on that, send me a pm.

I think you just hit the nail on the head.

Not taking anything away from your little one with the peanut allergy, since I have a daughter with the same problem.

It's your phrase of building up tolerance a little at a time.

That's that they are trying to do with us. Serve us one bad peanut at a time until we build up enough tolerance to eat the whole candy bar.
A slow boiling of the frog, if you will...

I’ve dealt with life threatening allergies to soy my whole life. Been hospitalized more times and you can count because of it, starting at 2 weeks old when I was hospitalized for 10 days when my mom gave me soy formula. Had to learn how to self inject an epipen at age 5 and burned through half a dozen of them before I turned 12.

I was fortnuate enough to begin an experimental desensitization program but the doctor lost his medical license part way through. Today I am still allergic but don’t usually go into full blown anaphylactic shock . I’m quite sympathetic to people with bad food allergies.

Pehaps it was a blessing in disguise for me, as I doubt there is anyone who has as much as a soy free diet as I do.

But my parents would never impose my condition on anyone else, they made me learn to read ingredients my self and be responsible for making sure I didn’t eat it. I learned what candies I could trade in instead of eat myself on holloween. Was not a big deal.

Sure as shit they weren’t gonna call the school and demand everyone else was soy free.

Soy is one of those things that has become ubiquitous in our food, like corn syrup, to replace real food.

Im fine with that, just wish they had to put on the package - "Now made with fake shit to replace real ingredients".

There have been quite a few researchers that have been finding that is a good course of treatment...
However the SJW crowd doesn't like it much as you are taking away their "special" power of being "special" and being able do demand everybody change their lives to suit them..

Instead of # movements and blue squash they need to put this effort wasted into finding out what is so screwed up in our food chain or semen/zygote effecting environment that has almost every kid today dealing with some sort of malady.
Somethings changed to fuck up every other kid out there.

There is a lot of studies out there on it to find out why kids are so screwed up these days some of the main lines of inquiry are:

Genetically modified foods that react slightly differently with a small percentage of the population
Agricultural pesticides and other poisons used in the food production cycle and the environment.
Children's naturally ramped up immune system not having anything to fight and going around looking for any nail to hit with it's hammer
Too clean an environment & too little contact with odd things making children's immune systems unable to adapt quickly and prone to over reaction
The role that having babies being fed on formula or pushed into food early instead of breastfeeding for as long as reasonably possible.
Stabilizers and preservatives in vaccines along with "enhancers" such as Aluminum in the shots having adverse effects.
The role that environmental toxins both man made and sometimes bacteria / fungus based play.

The other unavoidable problem that we are running into is we are trying our very best to go against the natural law of "survival of the fittest". Not even just in the traditional sense of the weak dying, but also in the daily thing get to bothering you and your body has to fight them because they aren't going away, and eventually your body overcomes them.

An interesting side note, I used to have some significant issues breaking out when I touched some of those vine type stuff, however my dogs kind of cured me of that, because they kept getting into it & then getting it on me and eventually I got to where I wouldn't break out anymore but would just feel that I got some on me and get around to running some soap and water over it when I got a chance and usually be good, unless it was a huge dose and then I needed a bit of Tecnu on it.

Some of these allergies are very serious and a serious stressor and/or life wrecker for a parent of a kid with one. I've heard of a couple of deaths from peanut butter and it is very sad.

I wouldn't throw stones at them on this one

If your kid actually had a life threatening deadly allergy to peanuts or such, you might just consider the best course of action would be to not take them out getting candy from strangers and rather just have a party at your house.

What happens if somebody else's precious monsters right before your ones arrived happened to be eating their peanut infused treat and had their hands all covered in it, reached into the pot and got some of that all over the candy and your kid happens to grab one of the pieces they held and later their hand gets to their mouth...

Re packaging. If an item is made by a subcontractor, there is no requirement to list possible contact with an allergic ingredient (dunkin hiens cake mix is an example that I know of). It would be nice if they would at least write something like We have no fucking idea what's in this.

Just make sure you don't kill him building up his tolerance.

My point was that people are just trying to help. Sure it sounds gay, but they aren't protesting or anything

Each time the dosage was upped, it was given at the doctors office. He made it to six peanuts once and a little less the second try. Three peanuts is what he eats now, which means he's not likely to go into shock. Twelve is considered no longer allergic.
my sister did the same thing with her kid. I don't know how much he is up to but it did bump.

At the top of the page, they now have a shortage of epinephrine. Un fucking believable. Every year it's another shortage of another cheap ass drug.

Due to some health things, I have had to be much more aware of what is in food.
It's getting ridiculously hard (and rather expensive as well) to just get plain simple food that is not packed with other garbage.

For example in my supermarket which has a huge selection, there is only 1 specific cottage cheese that is just cottage cheese and salt, everything else is packed full of additives, especially the "low fat" or the "healthy organic" branded stuff.

Trying to find whipping cream that is just plain cream... that's tough for some reason, you have to really look for it.

Yoghurt that is just actually milk and cultures and nothing else... you'll have your work cut out for you.

You can't even buy a bag of nuts without having to check and see what crap they put all over the nuts.

Breads are crazy difficult to sort out and most baked goods are a minefield of garbage.

I have managed to find some decent chocolate without garbage in it, which is rare also.

Pretty much any prepared meat slices are full of junk as well these days.

Then in drinks, you might as well just stick with water and anything else you make yourself, the drinks are the worst.

Dealing with two kids at home having issues with this.

Of the separate two issues Type I diabetes is the easier to deal with.

Only down side to Type I these days is the dependence on a stable society is cause for concern.

What color do you put out if you're handing out acid and Lucky Strikes?

There is a very good case to be made (and several of you posted this above) that much of the allergan and health BS... comes from helicopter parents who are so terrified that their special little spawn will be exposed to something bad....

That they never get exposed to anything.

If a youngster gets exposed to peanuts very young... the allergy does not develop. If parents are so %$#king paranoid that their little precious spawn will have a peanut allergy that they never let the little retard have peanuts... well, then the legume tolerance never gets built up and the little 'tard has a peanut allergy.

Kids should grow up on farms, eat dirt, catch frogs, lick toads, pet cats, play in sandboxes, swim in ponds, get cow s%$t on them, fall down, get cut, eat grass, play Russian Roulette.... you name it. In the name of becoming strong men.

These little a$$ pirates who live in suburbia with a mommy who feeds them Purel three meals a day... are going to grow up... no just sucking di$#s, but allergic to everything.

I get the fact that there are a tiny percentage of kids who really do have an allergy or a reaction. Odds dictate that some percentage is just wired in such a way as to react the wrong way to anything from Bulger Wheat to Suede Yoga pants... It's just in the odds.

But most of these special little 'tards are either a construct of their idiot parents neuroses... or they are created as allergic's... by the fact that mommy and daddy kept them in a gerbil bubble and fed them antibiotics instead of an outdoor life.

No sympathy. Darwinism works. If you can't manage to survive a bit of dirt... ash-heap of reproduction for you and your spawn.

Cheers,

Sirhr

Keep a pile of real butter, the best you can find.
If worse comes to worse, you may have success keeping them alive on a diet of butter till you find meds again.
Kid will still go into ketosis without the ability to absorb glucose. Type 1 is the preferred DM provided you can get insulin but without it, it's not looking good.

Then just trying to find water with no extra additives is a bitch, too.

These immune sterile kids are a result of staying inside instead of getting outside and playing in the dirt or better yet the local sandbox...then dig up the always present lump of cat shit..... I hated that.

I just can't believe the percentage of "allergic" kids these days. I'm 63 and when I was a kid you never heard of kids being allergic to eating anything. We were happy to eat anything we could get our hands on........

This has been going on with generics for the last 7-8 years and it drives us nuts (pun intended). I thought it was at it's worst a couple of years ago when we couldn't even get 0.9% Saline (I mean, it's just salt and water!), but they have since managed to top even that. Recently we had trouble getting Sterile Water For Injection. It's just water... What the???
