Doesn’t this guy have clouds to yell at ?
His basic message seems legit- there are some uncommon variables with the 6.5cm that should be taken into consideration, nothing worse than that. I'm a fan of the 6.5cm, and his observations don't change that for me, but I won't dismiss his observations, either.

His video about the .300 PRC is a good one too, apparently we should all be shooting a .300 Weatherby instead because super expensive brass with an antiquated design and a case length that limits you to stubby bullets in a standard AICS Mag are exactly what we are looking for.
From my understanding he screwed up a build for a customer by using the wrong reamer when the cartridge first came out and has disliked it ever since.
Never trust a gunsmith with a shit-ton of wood chisels in the background.

I ask because the video seems to present the fact that he in fact did use a 6.5cm reamer, and he goes into great detail why the screw up is with Hornady. I don't mind calling him out if he screwed up, but he seems to know what he's talking about. Plus everyone litigates these days and I don't want to get sued for slander, LOL!
Watch his video about his radial brakes, he claims there is no "felt recoil" when using it on a 300 weatherby. He demonstrates and it sure looks like he felt some recoil.

Meh, it sounds like he got the wrong freebore. It would be interesting to know when he got his first reamer. He makes it sound like he was a early adapter, but then claims he got the reamer same time as ruger offered a factory 6.5creed. I assume hes talking about the rpr, savage had a couple factory 6.5 creeds for 2-3yrs before ruger offered anything. Makes me think he bought a reamer without investigating the freebore.
Theres several freebore options for every cartridge reamer, not sure why hes surprised the creed is different. He seems to have an axe to grind, trying to drum up a conspiracy theory with brass that's a little longer. Omg, that's a first, all virgin brass has always been perfect out of the bag!! I wasn't going to respond to this but old farts need to stick together. I can't speak to Selby's current state of mind or what prompted this. The man has forgotten more than most will ever know. He may at some point have decided "I know it all". A fatal error for most professions either in the political or technical world. I spoke with him in the early 90's about wildcatting the 404 Jeffery's case. At that time called the Canadian Imperial Mag. Pre RUM. He had been using it for several years. He shared everything. I went my own direction and developed my own line based on the 404 case. He's old school. We don't have enough Selby's left in the world.

I can’t speak with any certainty on variations within the early 6.5cm brass, but I can say that it was total shit. I had 1000 pieces of it that was what I’d consider trash. If you got back into the archives here, it shouldn’t be hard to find info on this subject. It pissed me off enough that I sold the rifle I had built, all the brass, and dies. Just my one experience and it’s worth exactly what you paid for it......
Personally, I liked 6.5 Creedmoor back when it was called 260 Remington.
Shows up every so often... As near as I can tell he got an out of spec reamer and decided that because some early brass didn't have the anneal mark acid washed off Hornady isn't making their own cases. Guy has it out for Hornady for whatever reason, get that vibe in all his videos...

Sadly it didn’t... or good brass until like 2011 if I recall, when Lapua started producing it. Got that slight velocity edge over the 6.5CM though!
Agreed. That’s 90% of his complaint, that Hornady brass is shit. Are they having 6.5 CM brass made by Norma now as he suggests? It would make sense to the extent that it is not as shitty as it used to be.
Nope. Far as I'm aware Hornady has always made their own 6.5 cm brass (with rare exception if not). I think some of the early stuff had anneal markings left on. Similar to what you saw in the batches of 6.5 Gap 4s brass, some had anneal marks, some were washed.
He seems to know his way around a gun, and is for sure a well versed wildcatter. His loading for wildcats video I did find helpful. These others... seem more someone frustrating with marketing and venting about it. What I can’t figure out is if so, why does he not order reamers specd how he thinks they should be for these Hornady cartridges that he complains about excessive jump in.

Somebody asked me the other day if I was going to get it re-chambered to a Creed- no, just like my insurance I plan on keeping my Brass.
I literally can’t understand the hate for a cartridge. Perplexed. It’s not revolutionary. But Remington sucks at marketing and is run by Fudds. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the .260. The same as nothing wrong with the 6.5 Creedmoor. It’s just Hornady understands marketing and actively put the 6.5 on shelves.
And sorry. Anything past 600yds, the 6.5cm/ .260 kicks the .308s ass.

For me it’s exactly that - how Hornady marketed it as “look at this new thing in the shiny packaging”. Everyone ate that shit up with zero research or knowledge because, well, it’s Hornady! That’s all fine, I get it. When you have a crafty marketing team it makes all the difference evidently.

The .260 Remington is just another Prime Example of how bad the current, (last 25 years), Remington sucks.
I mean, the twist rates weren’t even what was being used, never mind barrel lengths & projectiles.
Remington had the opportunity to do the right thing but instead left the door open for the 6.5 Creedmoor.
Had they followed the wildcatters of the late 1990s rather than what they did, the Creed would not exist.
