Has restored my hatred of humanity.
Went to my local Costco and Walmart today. Keep in mind I live in rural Montana. I don't think there has been one single fucking case of this bullshit virus reported in the entire state. Yet the toilet paper/paper towel shelves were completely gone. Obliterated. Nothing, nada, zilch remaining. People buying gallons and gallons of water as if there is some threat to our water supply. Place was packed with idiots worse than the day before Christmas. Yes, I fully expected it. But, I held out hope that we Montanan's were a little tougher, more rational, more thoughtful of our fellow citizens. Nope, just as stupid, selfish and irrational as fuckwits in any other state. I was there reluctantly, not to hoard, but to buy shit I actually needed. Like fucking toilet paper (down to 4 rolls for the misses and I). After I saw the decimation, I had to get the hell out of there quick as my temper was getting the best of me. I hope these inconsiderate assholes who are making life difficult for the rest of us come down with a particularly nasty and virulent strain of the Coronavirus
My wife is pretty level-headed (and an RN) and not worked up about this but the panic hoarding had her a little concerned. She asked if I had everything I needed, enough ammo, etc. I said "maybe night vision" and her answer was "if you think you need it then now is the time". ?
It's a no go for me as we have a septic tank.

Honey, I just thought of something else we need. When all the food runs out in the stores, and everyone else is home asleep, i can hunt at night and bring game home (emergency situations only of course).
No shit. I dont understand it. My wife and I buy one of the big costco packs of TP about every 3-4 months. Got one not long ago so I'm set til summer. Can't imagine needing more than 1 of those in the house unless things get really wonky.
When the rain stops I may try the dog butt scooting method got some nice green grass right now.

Went to the butcher shop, today, and they were giving away a free roll of TP with every purchase. That's thinking ahead.
My wife has to go put up with the crazies as a cashier at a grocery store.
Her concern is 2-legged critters. I grew up hunting the NW with a century old Swedish Mauser so I'm not concerned about putting food on the table if it comes down to it. Keeping whats ours, ours, if the shit really hits the fan is the main concern.
That shit is probably thinner than Bible paper!

I went to Costco the other day for Flonase!! If I didn't have flowering bradford pears all around me I'd have said screw it. Now I have that damn allergy shit to worry about. But while I was in there I said screw it and picked up tomato sauce, brown rice, pasta and protein bars. The way these people were stocking up on water (about 1 crate left, no paper anything) it looked like old market in Moscow that had been looted. Utterly amazing.
I cannot help but wonder had their been a map of just the flu virus started in early Nov/Dec how people would react to that. Every virus has a bell curve "delivery." The area under the curve will at all probability be the same. What we should hope for is these measures shrink the rate hitting the peak and shrinking it so that hospitals are not overloaded. But I guarantee if that map would have been around for "just the flu" people would be a lot less likely to 1) pretend Flu isn't a big deal, 2) not freak out so much over this virus.
Myself, I decided to not go to the gym. I question a lot of folks sanitary skills at a gym anyway, and now...well...seems to be a breeding ground. Instead, I'll keep practicing at the range.

I can’t wait until the high end except use equipment hits the used market. that’s another area where I have been wanting some stuff but panic buying has hit. Give it 3-4 months and used market is going to be flooded
