Don't picture it like traditional dovetails. They didn't slide these together, they stacked them one course at a time.
If you had eaten it you wouldn't call it ruined. It was fucking delicious.

I'm nauseous, have lost my sense of taste and generally feel like crap, and have avoided the Nom Nom thread with a passion. Please think of the eating-challenged next time you have the desire to post pics of delicious food.

I had a blown down chestnut oak that was full of rain water in the hollow. They all hollow as they age and this one was broken at the top and perfect to collect water over this wet wet summer we had.

I've looked at this a lot trying to figure it out. I can see where the seams and edges of each beam are. That's a big start. I can't figure out a fast way of doing these joints. Someone has mad skills and too much time! It's certainly impressive.
It’s a dove tail joint...only it has double dove tails. Very skilled craftsmen and obviously took quite some time. Probably had a pretty good jig and chisel.
