This is the first that I heard of MLK making that statement. I liked most of what he said but this is a little bit of a shocker and started some research and came across this long article.
The takeaway from this article is that King thought there was something wrong with American capitalism. After reading the article and if the author is to be believed, I think MLK's real problem was not with "capitalism" but crooked and racist corporations.
There were some back then. However, the "woke" corporations are not any different than the ones that discriminated against people of color back then.
The only difference that the "woke" corporations don't like white, conservative Christians. That makes them just as racist as some of the ones from over 50 years ago.
That's not an indictment of "capitalism" but of some of the bad eggs in companies that operate in a capitalistic economy. IMHO, it looks like MLK was painting with too wide of a brush.

A turning point in U.S. racial politics came in 1986 at Pine Manor College in Massachusetts, shown. There, race-consciousness won out over color-blindness, profoundly changing American society.

MLK was a communist sympathizer at best. Possibly a full-fledged commie. The myth is not reality.

Our government is out of control and they are lawless.
They completely disregard bioethics.
They completely disregard the federal common rule.
They have broken all the rules that I know of, that i've been trained on for years and years and years.
These mandates are explicitly inconsistent with the Nuremberg Code. They're explicitly inconsistent with the Belmont Report. They are flat out illegal and they don't care.
When you see this kind of decoupling of public policy from logic, then it causes thinking people to say, What the hell is going on here?" and then
we go down the rabbit hole. Is it this, that or the other thing.
One of the things in that spectrum of " what's going on?' is that the Emergency Use Authorizations are predicated on policy determinations that we're in a state of emergency. Those are now two years old; they're expiring. I'm not saying this is what's going on in their head, but there is another perverse incentive here to amplify the fear porn.
If you buy into the hypothesis that for some reason there are incentives for the government to maintain the state of emergency, that is one explanation given that those declarations are expiring and will have to be reimplemented, because if they're notthen all of this Emergency Use
Authorization vanishes like dust.
It's hard for me to reconcile the behavior of the government and its public health decisions with the data. Is it incompetence or is there some ulterior political motive?

One of which I went to HS with. She is relatively young, was a freshman when I was a senior. My understanding is, that all 3 are fully vaxxed + boosted. Youngest now has a stint, the oldest a mesh, clots, etc.
I typically keep a closer eye on my AO than what's happening "everywhere else" since it impacts my family on a more direct basis.
Could of course just be coincidence and not related to the vaxx. But, none the less is a commonality of mention.
