New Berger 375 bullet 410 hybrid

Is an 8 twist too fast for these? Scott

ELR match at Ben Franklin Range in western Pa April 19th

Yes it's a different match, that I provided the link in a previous post, to the early May team match in case someone wanted to shoot at the PA private range and can't make the April 19th date or can't make it to TVP. Scott

ELR match at Ben Franklin Range in western Pa April 19th

oh ok, yep so maybe it's cancelled. They mentioned having another in July, but who knows. The $1200 is if your a team of 1. A team of 4 would be $300 per I believe. Scott

ELR match at Ben Franklin Range in western Pa April 19th

It might be full. There is another match there in early May that might have spots. https://ghostfirearmstraining.com/mile-money-match/ Scott

Is bullet still stable/accurate after it goes subsonic?

Lots of good posts here... One thing is the Hornaday 147 ELDM have a larger BC variation, and they don't do well past transonic. I'm don't know if you plan to try them at a mile, but I'd suggest 140 ELDM if you like hornaday, or Berger Hybrid of your choice, or Lapua Scenar. Like others have...

    Heat mirage

How close to the ground are your targets? Out in the Nevada desert we had the target as high as we could get it off the ground on T posts, and that helped a bit. That's crazy mirage downrange, and the only thing I can suggest is to try even lower magnification Scott

Did that take care of most of the mirage? Scott

    Heat mirage

You are on the right track with good glass. You may be using too much magnification. I try to keep it under 20x in the heat. 15x to 18x has worked fine for me out to 2500 yards. I have an older SB PM2 that I used in my first ELR match in Georgia, and it was very good. The next match I shot...

May the Reloading Gods Forgive Me...

Dies and brass... probably the most important aspects, so if they aren't up to snuff, that's good reason to go with another cartridge. I have a Warner arbor press die in 416 Barrett and it is beautiful and very functional, and same with their sizing die. Thank you for your insights, and I...

May the Reloading Gods Forgive Me...

I called Wilson months ago, and they were saying no 37xc support, like you said. Tubb has the one seating die, but it must be quite a bit longer to accommodate up to the 41xc bullets. That's why I was thinking of opening the neck area of a Wilson 33xc die, but apparently you can't set the top...

May the Reloading Gods Forgive Me...

I'm trying to remember if you have the Warner Tool 37xc die... do you use the same seater stem with A Tips and solids? I'm wondering if a Wilson 33xc Arbor die could be opened up to fit 37xc or better to start with a blank. Trace is better with copper jacked over solids? Thanks again, Scott

How did they shoot, and what twist are you running? Thanks, Scott

    33xc

Many people do build them on Lapua bolt face long actions, but I'd rather a bigger tenon, so I'm using a BAT CT 1.47" Do you already have a Mausingfield long action? Looks like ARC no longer sells the long action. Is a 9.5x77 on your list of wants? That might be a reason to go with the Titan...

Escutcheons for bedding Manners ELR light stock

So my Manners ELR light stock is at my gunsmith to be bed to the receiver, and I was curious what people use for the escutcheons? Make them from bar stock or pillars? Thank you, Scott
