    Knife sharpening for dummies

Practice freehand/unguided-stone until you get it down pat. You will learn so much above and beyond knife sharpening..... There is a reason that grinding HSS tools from blanks is one of the foundational steps in machining classes. Having said that, I can count on one hand how many times I have...

FTF Light Primer Strikes. Origin Action/IMI Mk262

Obviously Ray is the man to deal with. I recall a similiar issue on a 223 zermatt and the fix was giving the firing pin another detent slot turn into the cocking piece when assembling the firing pin assembly. This did leave it with minimum firing pin protrusion.....if I remember...

    Bartlein New Barrel Material 400MODBB

Manual. If there wasn't any side loading on the reamer......I bet you were getting work hardenening. Slow the rpm on big hss reamers. Plenty of fluid. Don't let the reamer dwell and avoid slow feed minor passes. IF you have that issues again. I found that sanding the chamber surface with...

    Bartlein New Barrel Material 400MODBB

Shouldn't take "significantly" more pressure. Check your bushing fitment and possible barrel alignment. HSS reamers will try and flex to follow misalignment. You said you had good chips......but you may have ran into some work hardening. Did the barrel feel warm? Lots of real estate on...

Toki here… starting anodizing line up again mid March. Msg me for details.

Couple more questions for you gentlemen. 1. I have a narfed up gen2 3x9 accurange and a gen1 "Redfield 1 inch tube" 3x9 duplex........can the internals be swapped around to make a good condition "Redfield 1 inch tube" accurange scope? I also have a accurange 2x7 if those internals will work...

Toki here… starting anodizing line up again mid March. Msg me for details.

Makes sense. Probably best to leave them as is and the buyer can do what they want to them. Thanks. Ern

Toki here… starting anodizing line up again mid March. Msg me for details.

Question for you gentlemen. If I had some redfield scopes to unload, would it be better to have them anodized or just leave them as-is? Ern

Reliable AR10 style that's reliable for "plinking"?

Regarding the psa pa10 setups. I wanted an 18" barrel with rifle length gas. I had to buy a 20" and cut it down. Compared to the 18" midlength they sell.......its a world of difference and less finicky over a wider range of ammo. Seems like Armalite and others already figured this out. Ern

    Barrel rifling

Don't get too hung up on this. Most builders (myself included) may have preferences that work slightly better with our particular setups.....but by no means are we putting out substandard work otherwise. As pointed out here, there are many more influential variables that can be (and should be)...

    Barrel rifling

The above is truly awesome. I applaud all the guys using podcasts (or the internet in general) to document the knowledge and experience that will no doubt be lost otherwise. To Frank's point, it is satisfying to read old books about theory and correlation that are now able to be proven and...

Problem with one of my gun safes.

I am not a locksmith.......but unless that hardened steel plug is made of carbide.......a carbide drill bit with adequate pressure and coolant will eat it up. Ern

Problem with one of my gun safes.

If you are a decent welder, you may be able to cut the entire back panel off at the edges with a thin blade and re-weld it back on. Ern

Help with new rifle $3k budget.

Thanks for the kind words. Great shooting and reloading too. I love me some 6BR and it is the easy button for rediculous accuracy. You wanna check your fundamentals......get a 6BR......it will show you everything you are doing wrong......haha. I am no fan of Hornady as of late, but I can see...
