I was able to get it removed by a gunsmith. The issue was with the Mile High Barrel. The threading was slightly oversized, causing the Warcomp to be stuck.
The gunsmith was able to remove the Warcomp and re-thread the muzzle to be in spec.
I get the part about barrel harmonics being affected. I was expecting them to be affected in a predictable fashion (i.e. consistent zero shift). However, getting fliers makes me wonder if something else is off.
On my SRS A1, factory barrel. Before install, rifle was consistent. I installed 3/4"-24 (female) to 5/8"-24 adapter and SF Warcomp. Now, I am getting fliers every few rounds. The flier can be as much as 1 mil high at 100 yards.
The adapter was torqued to 30 ft/lb and Warcom to 22 ft/lb. I am...
Thanks for the heads up about different thread pitch SF muzzle devices. I called SF and they still had some SFMB-762-SR25 in stock, while the SF3P was discontinued. I picked one up and also got a thread pitch adapter just in case.
My Desert Tech SRS A1 .308 barrel has 3/4-24 threads. In order to use SF SOCOM GEN 2 supressor, I will need to mount Warcomp or SF3P. Since they have 5/8-24 pitch, I plan to use an adapter.
Are there any recommendations in terms of how to install the thread adapter? Do I need to use a crush...
For context, this is for precision bolt rifles.
I was talking to a gunsmith about the installation of SF Warcomp that will be used as a mount for SF suppressor. He recommended against using rocksett because the crown gets dirt and needs cleaning, especially when firing suppressed.
He used some...
So I decided to install SF Warcomp onto my AX308's stainless steel barrel. Both the muzzle threads and Warcomp threads were cleaned with acetone.
On the first threading, the Warcomp felt tight, but I still went all the way. However, when I went to remove it, the warcomp went half a revolution...
I have 7.62 Warcomp that I would like to install on a barrel for my AX308. Since the barrels are screwed in, will the timing of the ports change every time I change barrels? Is there a way around this?
Thanks!
A few weeks ago, on the range, I was shooting out to 500 with my .223. It has Leupold MK5 3.5-18 with H59. Close to 500 yards, I needed to hold closer to the bottom. However, I noticed issues with image quality and shadow while trying to center my eyeball at the bottom part of the scope. No...
