Badlands "Shell Shock" 5.56 - snake oil?

I'm sure barrel wear is also accelerated. I know the hybrid stainless cases work and you can get more speed. Like others have said, is it really worth it with 223.

What upper receivers are you guys using to get a good thermal fit?

Out of all the BCM uppers I have built on I only have one that needs some attention. The pocket for the charging handle latch is really shallow, .020" depth. It holds the latch but I was a little concerned once it has some wear. So I will probably mill the pocket out another .030 to be closer to...

I would think kids would want to ride on the bus if they were all like that.

Thou shall not take the king's fish(bluefin)

I never said I didn't want to eat them. I have caught and cut a lot of fish in my time. I know what good tuna coloration is vs not. To each their own though. Some people eat monkfish liver at the sushi places and say its a delicacy. I would strongly disagree.

Thou shall not take the king's fish(bluefin)

I think the good eating size range for BFT is 40-200 pounds. After that the "Toro" part becomes bad. The fat almost turns into hard rubbery rows. The meat in between is ok. It really depends on what the fish are eating as well. I know those NE fish feeding off the scallop boats are super oily...

Thou shall not take the king's fish(bluefin)

The purse seiners down in Mexico wrapped so many in years past that the markets were giving them like $0.30/pound and using it for cat food. But the world is worried about the consumption of the fish and regulated the rod and reel anglers. This is why the pens were made so they could feed and...

Thou shall not take the king's fish(bluefin)

When I fished Moorehead City back in 2005 for those big BFT it was not uncommon for surf anglers to hook them while fishing for redfish. The regs for keeping those big BFT were pretty strict back then. We were able to keep one over 74" and release the rest. We had two released fish, one...

    Interesting… and raises ethical questions!!

Dire Wolves for working dogs could be kinda cool if they could keep them under control. Imagine some Tier 1 unit jumping in with 1-2 of those with them.

    11.5" Barrel and other suggestions

Most handguards that require a special barrel nut will come with the nut. Some also include the wrench, while others will not. Centurion makes handguards that will bolt on around the stock barrel nut, but you need to remove the delta ring. It's another option. The BCM barrels rarely come back...

I would suspect more scissoring than tapping, unless its being tapped by plastic or a bat wrapped in barbed wire.

    New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

The Magpul DT PR stock is a good option. I have the PRS Lite on my build currently but I might change it to the DT PR to drop a little more weight.

CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE AND FLYING THE FRIENDLY SKIES

Nope. Never got a response. I watched them take it right out of my backpack $200 in cash. I had TSA PreCheck and was flying about 90k miles a year in the US for work. The "supervisor" said he couldn't see it in the camera. I have friends that are LAPD and LASD. The LASD guy worked the area...

CIVIL ASSET FORFEITURE AND FLYING THE FRIENDLY SKIES

I had TSA at LAX airport steal my cash right in front of me and I was told I had to fill out a form to file a complaint. The theft took place during a "secondary bag inspection".

The Greatest Archaeological and Technological Discovery of Mankind

Even when rods are made here the US Gov is touchy about it. I also work in the industry and we own a certain rod factory in the NW. They made us stop printing made in US to handcrafted in Washington. All because the base materials and components mostly come from overseas. Even the prepreg was...
