    It’s too bad EDM Arms is gone. I work in tool making and used to take material to heat treat. I saw crates of EDM Arms receivers there to get heat treated. Always wanted one of their .408s and .338s. I’m sure there are far better rifles for the money but damn they look cool.

    It’s not technology, it’s the ballistics you can achieve with the case capacity available. The 6.5 Creedmoor can push a bullet with a higher BC at a higher velocity than the .308 can.

    According to Berger, their 140 VLD would be marginally stable with the 8.5 twist. Their 130 VLD would be stable.

    Why not just run a .30-06 at that point? Plenty of people are pushing the bullets you want at those velocities and you can get great brass.
