.22 ARC vs .6mm ARC for hogs

I think the 22arc super performance 70gr cx ammo would be good for that task. It’s running 2750 in my 12.5” ar. Haven't shot a pig with that combo yet. And I’m sure the 77tmk,75eld,88eld will work well to. I did shoot a 180lb hog yesterday at 280yds with a 90gr SMK, got a full pass through with...

    22 ARC

The 62s only have .9mil of drop at 300 with a 100yd zero going 3050mv. Should be a sweet set up

    22 ARC

No bolt gun. They should run 3000-3100 in a 18” semi

    22 ARC

62gr factory ammo was 3150fps out of my 20”. So probaly 3100

    22arc versus 6 arc

Exactly using Hornady black ammo is what I’m referencing. Tested and designed with all Hornady’s fancy equipment is where I’m getting my velocity data from not some random guys reloads on SH. Black ammo which is a mild lawyer proof load for ars at 2960fps out of a 20” barrel. Hornady’s gas load...

    22arc versus 6 arc

There’s theorizing data and modeling it without ever actually reloading for a cartridge. Then there’s actually shooting and testing it yourself.

    22arc versus 6 arc

It should be well within safe pressures. Hornady black ammo 75gr eldm is so mild it makes the case black 3/4 of the way down the case in a bolt gun and it runs at 2960fps out of a 20” barrel. Factory 80gr eldx runs 2920 out of a 20” barrel.

    22arc versus 6 arc

2900 with 85s from a 20” 22arc should easy. My 20” bolt gun was running 80gr eldms at 2930fps with a mild load of varget. Shot some factory ammo through the 22arc 12.5” AR today. 75gr eldm @ 2590 62gr eld vt @ 2790

.22 creedmoor fad or just starting

I’ve ran several 22-250 factory ammos through my creed. It’s runs fine and the case comes out .004” shorter than 22creed brass. 50gr vmax superperformance at 3550 in an 18”

.22 creedmoor fad or just starting

There’s plenty of options these days to build on whatever you want if starting from scratch. Mine is built on a tikka receiver.

.22 creedmoor fad or just starting

I’m probably the exception but for a year now I can walk into my gun store and there’s 6 or 7 different horizon 22creed rifles on the shelf and both factory 22creed 80gr ammos on the shelf. I’m hoping it continues to gain popularity. I’m about to rebarrel mine, toasted this barrel at 480rounds...

    22 ARC brass question

Hornady 6ARC brass I necked down and shot in my 22arc bolt gun is 1.500” COAL after forming, 1x Hornady 22arc brass is 1.520”. 22ARC trim length is 1.510” so 6ARC only comes up .010” short. You’ll be fine there, but necks go from .013 to .015 after necking down. Although it didn’t cause any...

    Keeping Suppressors Cool

I have always used fans at the rear of the rifle. Pulled the bolt and let it blow through the barrel and suppressor. Though I’ve wanted to try a 10-20lb bottle of co2 with a regulator and run a hose through the chamber.

    Impact NBK vs Stiller Wombat

I played with a horizon 22creed at the gun store the other day built off a wombat. I wasn’t impressed, action was new and dry but still binded up a lot with the bolt at the rear of its travel when trying to push it forward.

Did I burn up my 6GT at a match?

This is from the Q&A section on Krieger barrels website regarding copper fouling. “Our experience and some of the bullet manufactures is that the higher the pressure/velocity, the more the bullets tend to foul the barrel. Long bearing surface bullets will also foul a barrel quicker than a short...
