looking at a 38 gr bullet hoping to get around 4200 FPS and then possibly will go for a 55-57gr bullet with higher BC for long range in the future. 24" hart with 1:9 twist and predator action. rifle will mainly be used for coyotes hopefully under 400 yards (which i hope to be basically without...
Left everyone hanging there. I went with a custom US. Optics 5-17x39 with gen 2 XR illuminated reticle and covered turrets. Everything I needed and nothing I didn't.
I had the chance last week to get up to see Orkan at his store front in South Dakota. I went there with the idea of looking at some high end scopes and possibly buying one. I discussed what I would like to do with the scope and got to get some hands on experience with a lot of the high end...
there are a lot of scopes out there that would suit your needs. It all depends what features you want. zero stop, locking turrets, parallax adjustment, SFP vs FFP. figure out a few of these things and that will narrow your choices significantly in the lightweight category.
i have the SLIK sprint mini II. it will not do standing so could look at the slik pro II as well. Just a cheaper option than a lot of stuff I have seen. it will depend how heavy the scope is as well.
neil jones bore guides are another option. i have an ivy rod and bought one for my dad too. They are not a bad deal with the option to specify what you need.
This rest mainly will be used for load development of hunting/tactical rifles. Thus no desire to spend a ton of money. Just want to save time at the range while developing loads.
I have been looking around a lot lately and figured I would just poll the audience to get some thoughts on front rests. I am not looking to spend the money to get a Farley. That said, I dont want to spend money and be sorry later. Was contemplating the shadetree top with a separate base (bald...
Just an aside. The 2-10 weaver has red and green illumination. It is FFP and the turrets lock. I had a Vortex in the 1-4x with exposed turrets. They turn easy while slinging on and off. Just a thought
This will be interesting. I am in the boat of saving for these or vectronix. I need them to range soft targets and the vectronix will definitely do this. I am curious how the Leica will perform in comparison. Look forward to the feedback from the trip.
It is going to be hard to stay under a $1000 when looking to upgrade glass. the Mark 4 from leupold is a step up as well but you have to pay for it. I agree with above that you should be looking into a mil/mil or moa/moa system for "holdovers." Do some research on the SFP vs FFP reticles and...
