Don't have the barrel in hand and he didn't send any pic's of the bore if he took any.
Wish I could post the video of him pushing the rod down the bore!
I told him flat out... not going to warranty it.
There are three guys and are top smiths...... and I'll say these three guys will tell you when they have used a lead slug.... they can get close to what they think the bore size is....and they are honest and will say.... it's subjective at best.
The owner of the rifle felt it wasn’t shooting good enough. He thinks the steel isn’t good. So, he decided to make his own bushing and put it on a cleaning rod and push it down the bore to check the barrel. He feels there are tight spots in it. I’ll guarantee you that he scored the tops of the...
rough number.... a piece of material .900" in diameter x 1" long will weigh approx. .183#. Take 3" off and your looking at about a .5# of weight on the barrel + or - depending if your taking the length off or adding the length to the barrel.
I think your talking about the 6518 contour. Has a really short breech length and then a quick taper down to like .900" diameter and it's .900" at the muzzle correct?
That contour would be lighter than a M40 contour.
Not sure what/who's #5 contour you are talking about.
A Remington varmint...
Cool! I thought we did but just trying to keep track of it all.
I think only two guys didn't get back to me. I'm taking the order packet out to the shop so we can get rolling on these.
Thanks to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
