869 is a very dirty powder. I have no experience with N570. Retumbo and H1000 are my top 2 goto powders for the 338LM.

It sounds like you are an experienced reloader so I will discount that aspect. To get those variations in velocity I believe it must be either inconsistent powder charges or chronograph is bad. What do you use for measuring your powder charges? What do you use for your chronograph?

Powder Valley now has some Hodgdon H1000 1#s for $49/lb. I just bought 30#. Several other vendors now have H1000 but at $55/lb and higher. Wish they had Retumbo available as that is my preferred powder for my 338 Lapua Magnum but H1000 is my 2nd choice.

Has anyone tried Peterson 338 Lapua brass? I've used their 6.5 Creedmoor brass and it's on par with Lapua and Alpha brass.

Looks like you have 2 nodes. 85.5/86.0 & 88.0/88.5 I would probably do a ladder test from 88.0-99.5 in 0.1 increments with 3 shot groupings assuming you have the supplies. Thanks for the info.

According to Hodgdons website you can use 85gn H4831SC with a 250 gn bullet and have a muzzle velocity 2740 and pressure of only 52000. With a 300 and 79.0 gn H4831SC powder you get 2511 at 53000 psi. Not as good as Retumbo but very doable. You seem to be only using software to make your...
