Anyone with experience on the 6.5cm as it seems to have much higher pressure then a 308.
i think the HP bolt is going to help this go around as well as i was having issues with primers with relatively mild loads. these ar-10 seem to be just hard on brass in general when reloading.
I am curious what is the result of using a light weight BCG with a suppressor? Everyone always recommends a heavy buffer when shooting suppressed to help slow down the bolt unlocking and bcg cycle speed. Will a light weight BCG cause issues when suppressed?
i am working on building a 6.5cm...
I bought 3 Mcgowen barrels in 3 different calipers. 1 they could never get sorted out and finally gave me a refund (chamber was screwed up). Another one had terrible cold bore issues, which i sent back and they witness first hand but wouldn't stand behind. I ended up just eating the cost of the...
Sorry, this is a 6.5cm. i have shot horandy and federal factory loads. I have also spent way too much time and money trying to reload for it, and really haven't found a decent load. This is also my second barrel.... Maybe I just demand too much from a gun that a gas gun will never deliver...
I have been fighting with a left hand Stag AR-10 for a while now, as it simply never has performed as well as i would like. I have tried dozens and dozens of different loads with different bullets, powder etc... It seems to never shoot as accurately as i would like. Plus it always is tearing up...
I wanted to hear from other owners of 6.5 PRC's. Shooting Hornady factory ammo, do you have ejector swipes?
On my 6.5 prc I have been fighting it for about a year. I sent the barreled action back to the place that made the barrel, so they could...
What does extra gap cause issues with? I did check mine and it was bigger then 1/8" so i put a thick washer behind the JP SCS, and this closed the distance down. It still jars the charging handle free when fired. I'm sure this isn't a big deal just never have seen it before, and really don't...
I have checked. while there are wear marks (which I think is mostly the finish worn off), if the charging handle is latched and i pull on it. It will not come unlatch. So either something is hitting it to make it unlatch, or the recoil impulse is causing it to jar free.
I haven't shot this...
Is the "gas key" the tube bolted to the top of the bolt carrier, which the gas tube slides into? Where would a bur be, on the outside? i guess i haven't check but never noticed anything. I'm suspecting maybe this gas key is hitting the back of the charging handle when the bolt is in the rear...
When an AR-10 cycles, does the BCG travel back until it bottoms out the buffer?
Reason I ask is i can't figure out a weird issue. The charging handle is coming unlatched when fired. thus on the last round of the mag the bolt locks back and the charging handle is loose and can slide back. It is...
Yes it is the ar-10 tubbs flat wire spring.
It is a 20" barrel with rifle length gas system. I have turned the gas down with the adjustable gas block. I do have some rounds loaded up with superformance i want to shoot and see what happens.
My COAL is 2.800" which is what Hornady factory ammo is set to. I don't know my jump as it is a bitch trying to measure it in this ar10. i tried several times with no good readings.
It isn't a high pressure bolt. This is a Stag Left handed AR-10, so i don't believe i can get a HP bolt. Unless...
Do AR-10's not handle pressure as well as bolt guns? what i mean by this is, due to the bolt design and being gas operated, do they need to run at significantly lower pressure then the same chamber in a bolt gun?
I have a great load i use in my Tikka 6.5cm of 46.4gr of RL-26 and 147eld's. In...
I prefer 1 stage over 2. For all my AR's i started using Jard triggers. Was one of the few i found with a single stage AR trigger that you can adjust down to 2lbs. On an AR-15 it is awesome and my favorite (even over the trigger tech's adjustables).
Thought i would throw that out to look into...
I can extract the case by hand, but it is difficult. to get the bolt to move the first little ways I have to use my thumb and push against the scope. once it breaks free the first little bit i can cycle it like normal.
the reason the bolt charging handle is allowed to come free is because it...
