Stripped screw hole in 700 5R action

Mind pointing me to exactly what you're referring to? Is it a drill bit? I don't have any heavy machinery (ie: drill press) so may not be able to complete that job myself.

Much appreciated, I've reached out to them about it. Thanks

Stripped screw hole in 700 5R action

Being from Phoenix as well, could you possibly recommend a gunsmith to do this? Thanks.

Stripped screw hole in 700 5R action

I was mounting a Badger base to my 700 5R when the process was derailed (no pun intended) by the front screw hole threading being stripped (the screw itself has no threading left and the threading on the action appears to have been affected). This is a new rifle, having its first scope mounted...

Best 700 SA BDL detachable mag system?

How about options with a stainless/nickel/hard-chrome finish (something to match the 5R action and barrel)?

Data book options (print and digital)

I've done a bit of looking into options for data books and Impact Data Books seems like the top option. As a new shooter I'm still looking into what all I will need in a package to log my rounds. IDB has some nice premade options. Are there any better alternatives? How about in the digital...

Best 700 SA BDL detachable mag system?

I have a McMillan A5 (standard) BDL stock on my 700 5R that I would like to drop a detachable mag system into. Any recommendations? What are the best options at any price-point? Thanks.

Gunsmithing How To Install BT17 Rail for Atlas Bipod in McM A5

In case anyone encounters the same with their A5 and BT17, I received confirmation from both Accu-Shot and McMillan that it is acceptable to mount the 10-32 screws that come in the BT1517 fastener set, where the A5 stock has embedded threaded anchors (as mine does), without having to use the...

Rifle Scopes Badger base (306-46) on 700 5R - need bedding? (PHOTOS)

If your base is bowed but happens to fit your action perfectly, how do you straighten it?

Gunsmithing How To Install BT17 Rail for Atlas Bipod in McM A5

Running into this issue with my A5. Need some input. I ordered the BT17 rail and BT1517 fastener to mount an Atlas bipod to my A5. The A5 previously had two factory sling studs installed, which I removed to install the BT1517 fasteners. The t-nut on the fasteners does not pass through the...

Rifle Scopes Badger base (306-46) on 700 5R - need bedding? (PHOTOS)

After watching the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLYvLdM4ymU ...I repeated the process with the screws on the rear instead of the front, thinking I may see some play as is shown in the clip. After snugging the screws down I found zero play on the front, and no gaps on the...

Rifle Scopes Badger base (306-46) on 700 5R - need bedding? (PHOTOS)

A Badger base can be bowed? I assumed you get what you pay for with them: a rail as straight as a nail. Are you referring to when both the front and rear are screwed down? I can see that being the case if the action is not level.

Rifle Scopes Badger base (306-46) on 700 5R - need bedding? (PHOTOS)

It almost doesn't look like it is in the first photos, but I feel zero side-to-side play in it. Is there a surefire way of straightening it?

Rifle Scopes Badger base (306-46) on 700 5R - need bedding? (PHOTOS)

When is it not necessary to bed a base? Is there such a thing as having so little space between the base and action that bedding is unnecessary? And does it look like my case fits into that category? It's a simple enough task but I want to be sure it's necessary before following through with it.
