    Stock Market

I have degrees, and went to College. My parents told me I'd be a trash collector if I didn't. I told my kids, their friends, the kids on my HS trap team...you don't have to go to college. The only reason my oldest went to college, was to play baseball. When he stopped playing, he told me he...

    Stock Market

You don't think companies are realizing where the fat was, due to CV in part, and trimming it. Sure seems like it to me.

    Stock Market

I've owned Tesla for a while, in my own account, and my Mom's account that I manage. Bought years ago and even at the 52 week low, up quite a bit. It is however, one of the more "emotionally" driven stocks. Other things affect it's price more than basic fundamentals. I've learned to pay...

    Dirty barrel syndrome

In my experience, a totally clean bore changes after 20 to 40 shots, goes through a transition and then settles back down after 50 to 150...lots of variables. Whatever those numbers are, yes, they get less and less as the bore gets more rounds on it.

Interesting read on the validity of forensic science.

I had a lady call me last week. She wanted me to "just write a letter" saying that the bullet fired could not have come from the gun her son possessed. DA said it was "consistent" that it came from his gun. She had watched too much TV. :(

Stupid idea of the day….Sig Cross in 6.5 Creedmoor for comp use?

A Bergara HMR in 6CM or 6.5CM is a much better choice if the weight and compactness does not benefit you. They are $950 most places. My LGS has SIG Cross in 6.5CM for $1400 BTW. Daniel Horner does "okay" with it in NRLHunter, but has to shoot factory ammo since it does not make PF. That...

Interesting read on the validity of forensic science.

"Trust the Science" is the opposite of Science. No real scientist will say it, and just because it lands on the tickled ears of the followers of the MSM means nothing. I've been in court, as an endorsed export, accepted by the court, 3 times against a CBI expert. Each time, after I testified...

How many calibers is to many?

I got out of 4 calibers in 2020/2021. Down to 18 that I reload for. I have 3 shotgun calibers that I don't reload for, but have a 12g press, and no on .22LR.

Multiply a 3-shot group by 1.28 to get your expected 5-shot group?

From a statistical perspective, you are 100% correct. Turning a rule of thumb approximation into a statistical probability is ignoring mathematical norms. If saving $1 per group is something one needs, they have chosen the wrong hobby. Shoot 5 shot groups, or 4, or 8 or 10 and use real data...

    Bergara b14 HMR

That really comes down to personal preference, not real performance differences. Maybe a 24" or 26" is better with the heavier bullets, but with the lighter bullets, maybe a 20 or a 22" is better. I have shot a 22", 24" and 26" Bergara side by side and yep, really not much difference between...

    Debating a PCC, optic question

Adjustable reticles, rugged, big window. I have it on my 10mm PCC. Got it before it was on the market and beat on it pretty good. Should be worth your time to take a look at it. https://www.burrisoptics.com/sights/fastfire-red-dot-sights/fastfire-4

    243 Load Thread

I have 5 .243s and have settled on H4831SC. I load from 75 to 115 grain. Have used 3031, 4350 and a few others, just really like H4831SC and I don't load tons of them, so hand trickling each load is not a big deal. I tried some H1000 in 2019, but then the shortages came and I really never...
