    I’m not sure if it’s being stated clearly enough, but the arrest in July was for stalking and sexual assault of the same child he was with when he was shot. I know the family.

    Not implying an extra power spring is needed but it may be possible that the existing spring is worn. A new spring may provide more upward force.

    I think I would first address the follower spring. Either get a new/longer one or pull the existing and stretch it a bit to see if that puts enough upward pressure on the follower to prevent it from compressing.
