Would you get into 6.5 Grendel in 2024?

I bet the Trijicon 1-8 Credo would be a great fit as well, or a 2-10/2-12 would probably improve eyebox with a RMR somewhere if 1X matters on that one. Any of that ammo you've been testing coming to market anytime soon?

When clipping onto a rail, we don't see more than 1 MOA of shift and typically less than that.

Point of diminishing returns for a 2-12 ish scope

Bought it, have shot it a few times, love it thus far. Have two identical rifles, one with this and the other with an ATACR 4-16 and the ATACR is as much better as it is heavier. The Trijicon is everything a boy needs to whack pigs out to 400+...

I'm intrigued on one hand, and concerned due to the low hanging side 18650's it wouldn't work with the 45 degree throw over a typical rail on a 50mm objective. With that said, I would LOVE to be wrong, that would be a real game changer for me. I'm not mad at my NOX at all, but if I could leave...

    noveske switchblock

I love my switchblocks in 556 and 308. I had a Superlative fail and turn the gun into a single shot. I've never had a problem with any of my switchblocks and I have thousands of rounds on some of them. I've mainly used the 308 with an AAC Ranger 7.

    Noveske DDF Barrels

Competition is one thing and I agree if that is what you're doing, you may need purpose built/custom built/better than. On the other hand, I've taken many 2-5 day rifle classes and most of the rifle/shooter combo's can't hold 3 MOA + it would be a rare shooter who brought an X Arc, Grendel...

Sounds like at worst its as good, and you bought at least 27% more cool factor than a non DDF... :geek:

    Noveske DDF Barrels

... God forbid someone is in that situation, a rifle that starts at sub MOA and expands to 2.5 after she's good and hot isn't a worst case scenario. I understand that we can't always expect 1 shot 1 kill but with a precision rifle and skilled operator I'd hope the ratio wasn't say 40:1 either.

I usually zoom in to reference an individual pixel, but I still don't REALLY trust it till I verify it. With good reference marks, you'll be minute of pig out to 150-200, but minute of coyote at 300 - not so much. Suffice to say it is a back up and I've gotten to the point I really only use it...

Ballistic masturbation = Taken from Tom Givens, one of the best to ever do it - with regard to what most people do at the range.

    Noveske DDF Barrels

I got that, but my point is - there is allowing for a higher rate of fire with faster cooling, and then there is ballistic masturbation - feels good, accomplishes little. I can appreciate checking out the claims of the manufacturer for a fancy new toy, I'm just trying to understand when you'd...

anything over 30-32mm tube is a no-go. ACOG doesn't work well. I use it with a clamp on with a 3-18x50 with great success - and medicore repeatability. Its essentially a confirmation of zero and tweak almost every time if you're expecting precision. Its a shame because it is capable of 8-10X...

    Noveske DDF Barrels

So I'll admit, I'm not very tactical. I just kill pigs and coyotes, usually with a 12.5" or 20" Grendel, Noveske builds, Noveske barrels. I struggle to understand what is gained from "heating them up" with 40 rounds and checking accuracy at that point. It is a free country and if you want to do...

Well, if you can find a NEW, old stock Gen 1 under warranty - I'd probably go that way. The Gen 2 has better battery life (two 18650s vs one) better processor, easy interface, same screen, same lens. You can make it clip on under a 30-32mm LPVO but other than that is a clamp on.

case to be made... there is a lot I like about the Gen 2 but given the option to swap, I'd have to spend about 30 min with gen 1 before I said no
