Rifle Scopes Zeiss HT or Diavari

If she is on an AR-15, the ACOG I have works extremely well. I get some trash talk about spending that much on a 4X scope from an old name but, it simply works extremely well. Wide field of view, easy eyebox, and great optics. Personally, in a traditional scope, look for an AO model.

What is the story of Unfilmed L3 versus Elbit in White Phosphor today?

I am thinking mostly of recoil resistance in high spec tubes in a dedicated scope or in a PVS-14. I am actually looking at an M-27 MUNS with an older spec Green tube but, a PVS-14 might work in my situation and give me some versatility. TIA, Sid

Bergara B14 HMR or something else?

For a feral hog herd, the 6.8SPC AR-15 normally is the preferred option. For situations with a solitary hog or two, a bolt action should be fine as well. I have had large groups on my property which I decimated with the AR-15 and 6.8SPC. These days, I'm not the only one shooting so, numbers...

Bergara B14 HMR or something else?

    Thanks! Great post.

Bergara B14 HMR or something else?

I am debating a Bergara B14 HMR in 6.5CM for longer range target work and shooting feral hogs out to ~200 yards. Is there a better rifle for similar money? What sort of accuracy am I looking at for farther shots at 400 yards or more? Regarding the feral hogs, I get good results with a 16"...

    Short barrel cartridges

About like buying some 257 Weatherby ammunition too! I saw a box once a bit under $70 so, technically a bit cheaper.

    Short barrel cartridges

    With higher chamber pressures.

    Any updates?

375 Cheytac rifles today? Or something else.

Those Tubb big XC cartridges are new to me and look promising. It looks like the cost isn't much more than a 338LM so, that certainly puts it within reach of a much larger group of potential users. I guess I should re-evaluate a 300WM/300Norma against 33XC for an initial step into this sort of...

375 Cheytac rifles today? Or something else.

A simple Google search shows reasonable availability of 375 Swiss P ammunition at less than $5/round at my door too!

375 Cheytac rifles today? Or something else.

Looks like that 375 Swiss P rebated rim cartridge might work in my 30-378 Weatherby rifle as a "cheap" donor to start. Feeding would likely take some work though if I don't load one at a time.

375 Cheytac rifles today? Or something else.

Thanks! A 300WM would be a lot cheaper and would still be a pretty good thumper. 6.5 calibers don't provide much 'splash' to spot wind and get on target but, might be viable for a general training rifle on the cheap, for ammo costs. I should note I have an old Weatherby 30-378 that really...

375 Cheytac rifles today? Or something else.

I know the 416 Barrett has been around a long time but, back when I looked at it, it seemed like a "Ban Beater" for those that couldn't get a 50BMG version. These days, things like the 375 Swiss P round seems promising.

    Short barrel cartridges

Any of the new "wonder magnums" will do deer at 300 yards with authority assuming a good bullet and above average hearing protection. You obviously like the 30-06 so, I would say a 35 Whelen in an 18" barrel would be a real sweet spot for you. Personally, I like the 338/06 a bit better but...

375 Cheytac rifles today? Or something else.

I am wondering about the new Sako TRG 62 and similar rifles in 375 Cheytac versus something potentially in the 338 class like the 338 Norma or that new Swiss round. I run a 300WM now so, my next option is something larger for >1,000 yards that won't kick like a mule every time I shoot it. I...
