    For $1000-1500 you can get solid performing AK. Arsenal, Zastava, WBP…all good guns. You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. That being said, if you get into an AK knowing the limitations of the platform & available Ammo they are fun to have around.

    I’d choose 7PRC if building today. I set out to build a mid weight/ medium recoiling all around western hunting rifle couple yrs back& choose 280ai. Slinging 175’s at 2920 is bad medicine for everything in lower 48.
