+1 For a Ruger American Rifle or American Ranch. I have a 16" Gen 1 in 5.56 which uses AR magazines. Interesting. My impression of savage rifles is that they are the ugly duckling of the reasonably-accurate rifle world. I'm not familiar with this rifle and will look at it. Seems like the consensus is, "buy a nice one."- SolidCopper
