Precision Rifle Gear The Cole Tac Koozie

No, it’s not a catalog item, but when I realized my Cole Tac suppressor cover would make a nifty Red Bull koozie, I had them sew one up without the heat shield to fit the 8oz can dimensions. I had wanted to make a koozie for the 8oz cans since I first got addicted to these darned things years...

    Rear bag dilemma

Fill material and fill volume both play a big role. Bag shape as well. A soup can shape is my favorite by far. Are you properly squeezing the bag to firm everything up before the shot? The rifle should be able to freely slide backwards and forwards during recoil. I’ve used everything from sand...

Feedback Scammer alert: ojs643 Paypal: [email protected]

Just checked my mail and found out I’m another one to get scammed by this asshat on the Garmin. In my case he agreed to use PayPal goods and services, but refunded the money later in the day because he wouldn’t get paid instantly. I assumed after he went that far might as well do PayPal FF...

    Gunsmithing Torque Tools

I’ve always assumed that the Borka Tool was limited in its accuracy to the user. I think I do a fairly good job of operating it properly but after reading the outstanding reviews of the fix it sticks all in one, I may add a set of those limiters to my Borka kit for the ultimate range setup.

    Gunsmithing Torque Tools

Bite the bullet. I’m a cheapskate. My wife “bought” me this set for my birthday. (I ordered on my credit card, she approved) this is one of those cases where I have zero buyers remorse and a lifetime tool. I own other torque tools but this one goes to the range and everywhere else. Simply...

Precision Rifle Gear Budget Tripod review.

That’s a great example of a Chinese company that actually pays attention to the needs of the end user.

Precision Rifle Gear Budget Tripod review.

Ball head is set up for arcs rail. I don’t know of a ball head that covers both. There are picatinny to arca adapters out there if you don’t already run an arcs rail.

Precision Rifle Gear Budget Tripod review.

These might make decent lightweight hunting setups which is what they were intended for. However for shooting with arca systems under 20plus pound rifles in PRS style competition they wont quite cut it. The ability to switch between an optics platform like a tac plate, straight to an arca rail...

Precision Rifle Gear Budget Tripod review.

I wanted to do a quick review on a budget tripod option I’ve been playing with. I picked up this Fanue ST65 tripod for around $250 on Amazon. Of course it’s made in China. Then again so is the device you’re likely reading this on. Along with half the items in your home. This company at least...

    RemArms Sloppy Warranty Repair

This is the sort of thing that I’ve come to expect these fair and luckily I’m enough of a fun hack that I wouldn’t blink twice. I’d simply step out to my shop and make/replace the pins. However, I’m a Gun engraver which requires me to be familiar with most of these things and I have tooling...

6.5 creedmoor worth it for first prs?

This is a few days old and I don’t know if you pulled the trigger on a gun yet, but….If a $2500 rifle is out of the cards, consider an Aero Solus 6.5 Bravo. There are quite a few available on GunBroker.com. At $1700 or so, it’s a heck of a good start and certainly not a rifle you’ll immediately...

Getting a 1k class gun built

Yep, asking your smith to pick a stock is kind of like going on a car forum and saying, “I want a fast car, what should I buy?”. Thats likely wayyy too broad of a question for guys who are very laser focused and detail oriented. As a gun engraver I get this all the time. As in “how much to put...

    Hornady Comparator Readings

An exact reading off the land means little since it’s just a starting point. A whack the bullet home about 5 times. If I’m within 5 thou on all five I’m good. I pick a depth about 20 from that as a starting point and test from there and never worry about the lands again. But it takes a good...
