    Rock River Arms 17 HMR

My Savage A17 is kinda funky as far as the trigger and stock, but a magazine will pop out of the gun once in a while too, though it shoots decently. Instead I sure would like that RRA with a match trigger and the ability to have adjustable LOP and Cheek Height instead. Are these pretty...

    Wilson Combat barrels

I have a WC in 6mmFatRat and it shoots good, like 3/4" at 100Y, but not as good as the Bartlein I had in 6mmART40 on another upper. I'm not sure which way I'll go when my FR burns out but the FR was half the price and I'm not unhappy with it.

    So. Many. New. Calibers.

Not a lot has changed, though I learned over the years I prefer temp insensitive powders, long barrel life, low recoil, higher BC, and great precision, and strong well made brass - or the best compromises of. I tried all kinds of cartridges for varmints and I sold all except for 223 in AR and...

Looking for recommendations for long range air rifle

It's fun to do, and to say or show, it can be done. Well there's some marketing strategy going on here too in Matt's case but that's his job which I can't hold against him. I love shooting pcps and slugs at longer distances. Some of mine are very good at ELR distances, good enough to be much...

Is the March FX 4.5-28x52 my new ZCO?

I'm going to come at it from some other angles, not that you aren't correct for much of it, however I'm not sure I agree totally. I venture to think there is still plenty of profit margin in expensive scopes from smaller co's but they aren't selling near as many scopes as the high volume co's...

Point of diminishing returns for a 2-12 ish scope

Alright, alright, you got me. I didn't know your level of experience so go for it and let us know what you think as time passes with your new scope.

Strasser RS 700: straight pull Remage-style barrel nut that uses R700 accessories (stocks, triggers)

Schneagle snoven shmoggle smooven, That means in my own special Euro language, "I want one and I'd like to scratch that itch, like in the video".

Point of diminishing returns for a 2-12 ish scope

You get used to that thick reticle and what you'll discover is there is almost always wind, plus you can hit stuff just fine with thick reticles, but most importantly why we like this scope is the reticle is usable on low mag so the FOV is huge, the exit pupal allows more light to your eye...

    Arken 4-16 vs Athlon 4-14

OT a bit, and over budget too, but the new Athlon G3 Ares BTR 2.5-15 is an absolutely killer scope for the money!!! It's got very good everything, but not quite daylight bright illume, and a great .2 mil reticle that is slightly thicker at .06 mil and the new turrets feel like they belong on a...

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

I don't see why Ted couldn't make his own proprietary 2 stage trigger and some people like me prefer the single stage feel. I have some Anschutz triggers which I think are 2 stage and I've set them so they are like a single stage. People are looking for reliability, a crisp break/often a pound...

    Sled for Squirrel Zero?

I can extend it up and to the left to give me the best indication what the wind is doing. It's got a little wind flag attached to a string at the end of the string. Why we have it is we shoot at small kill zones and wind blows pellets a lot. Getting the wind wrong means missing a bunch.

    Sled for Squirrel Zero?

I've got a high quality and fairly expensive one piece BR rest that holds my BR gun perfectly still(no not the gun in the photo), and that's about as good as it will ever get, but a nice stoutly built bipod and the aforementioned pump bag is nearly as good when using my non benchrest rifles...

    Sled for Squirrel Zero?

The rifle needs to recoil back with out being stopped by something super rigid behind the butt of the gun. That's why rail guns used in Benchrest have moving recoil systems in them and why Benchrest shooters let their guns come back a ways before they reset them back to the original spot on...

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

What's missing AFAIK, is a chassis integral with the action/one unit, so no action screws, and nothing to come loose. Then it'll be the host for a plethora of furniture and accessories. Why mess around when you can go all the way.
