Rifle Scopes What's the REAL story on SWFA?

They’re not on par with the Razor 2-10x, but they’re a third the price and weigh 6oz less. Depends what you’re looking for. For a lightweight hunting rifle with more cash to spend, go Razor. For an ultralight hunting rifle (like my 5.5lbs scoped Howa Mini) that you’re already over budget on...

CMC or Triggertech Duty for new build?

Agreed on the general purpose points but not the “going to get rid of all of them” one 😉 I’ve got a TT Adaptable set pretty low on my 3gun rifle, a TT Diamond on my long range AR, and one of these TT Duty triggers just replaced the RA-140 in my general/SHTF/defense rifle. I didn’t care for the...

CMC or Triggertech Duty for new build?

It’s a lot better: louder, more tactile, just feels like a larger piece of metal moving inside the gun if that makes sense. It’s still nothing on par with, say, a Geissele though (G2/SSA/SSA-E). If reset were my primary concern it wouldn’t be my pick.

CMC or Triggertech Duty for new build?

You’ll like it, it’s a great trigger. I’ve had it for over 10yrs — was my first AR tigger upgrade — and it’s always in one of my lowers and has never spent a day in the parts bin. I prefer the TT’s very distinct feel to the CMC, which is primarily in the creep (extremely little vs none), break...

CMC or Triggertech Duty for new build?

I have both, flat faced CMC and slight curved TT Duty. TT Duty every day and twice on Sunday at the same price, and it can be found for less than the CMC pretty easily. And I say this as a fan of the CMC generally.

Rifle Scopes What's the REAL story on SWFA?

Well, one of the two UL scopes they sent me is the wrong one. Regular Plex version with 100yd parallax when I ordered the Rimfire one (confirmed on the invoice, the shipping notice, and the packing slip). Need it for a squirrel .22 so can’t just make it work. Weirdly, the box says it’s a...

Rifle Scopes What's the REAL story on SWFA?

Well maybe I should air my concerns publicly more often: I just got a notice that I have a pair of Ultralights headed my way via UPS. Appears SWFA is still alive and kicking 👍

    Scoped 20" AR pictures

20” BA fluted barrel on this one. Got a bunch of FDE covers for the 15” handguard after this. Might get you an updated pic this week if work lets up.

    AR trigger

I love mine too but they’re 3-4x the price the OP is asking about

Rifle Scopes What's the REAL story on SWFA?

Oh c’mon guys: the glass is insanely good for $2-300. I feel like you all are forgetting how amazingly cheap these are for good glass with bulletproof tracking at a reasonable weight — I’ve paid more for worse performance in all 3 areas and so has anyone who’s been buying scopes for awhile

Rifle Scopes What's the REAL story on SWFA?

I've had 2 Ultralights -- a rimfire and a bdc -- on order since mid-Feb so I sure hope they're reloading the product line and not going out of biz. Wonder how long before they can send those out, the rifles I had them planned for are itchin' pretty fierce at this point. Hope it's in time to...

    AR trigger

Good point on the reset: I said earlier that it’s basically the same as the standard TT 3.5lb offering but you’re right that the reset is both more audible and more tactile. Not a big change to me but fits with the “Duty” angle I guess.

    AR trigger

This x1,000. I can’t tell a difference between this and the old standard Competitive model (I’ve got one of those, a couple Adaptables, and one Diamond so I’m familiar with the line). It’s like getting one of those at half off. Can’t believe how they do this for the price. The sale-price...

    Lightweight Hunting Chassis

KRG Bravo is just 2.9lbs — tough to beat that in a true chassis, esp for the price. I’ve had regular old stocks that weigh quite a bit more than that, ha.
