    Straight-Pull? Which is the best?

Steel Action is by far the best straight pull rifle on the market for "our" use. The SA, as Tralle explained, use traditional threaded barrels an have picrail milled directly in the receiver. In the Acila chassis the SA use AI AW mags.

    So. Many. New. Calibers.

I have not seen a single new cartridge after the IHMSA craze in the 70'ies. 6.5IHMSA = 6.5x47 = 6.5CM. 6mmBR/6.5BR/7BR. Etc, etc. The only new cartridges I know of are the defunct Voere 6mm Vec91 caseless, that was emediatly forbidden in BR comps based on Jarrett rifles prototypes that shot too...

    Vintage Sniper Rifle Picture Thread

The Tikka M55 sporter in 22-250 was also used by the Norwegian special forces. I used one with a "M40" type stock and a Kongsberg/GFM hammerforged barrel as a sniperrifle in the 80'ies and 90'ies. I had two scopes zeroed in Tikka DeLuxe QD mounts and the rifle/barrel/scopes were set up to...

What would be a good modern functional scope for a m1903a3

Weaver mounts are sort of "QD", so a modern 30mm scope don't look completely out of place in the woods or on the range. I would not mind do some hunting with one of these scopes and have the K3 as a display scope.

Hunting for a repo M40 walnut stock (my Beaver156 repo stock got slightly damaged)

Beautiful rifle! When I see these type of sniper-huntingrifles I always think of the shots in anger, that can be taken with these rifles, that are difficult/impossible with the modern heavy "all steel" chassis sniper rifles and by the autos due to their long locktime. There is a gap in the...

    EU allies

It's all the Romans fault. They didn't manage the immigration properly so they ended up as Italians. In addition they didn't exterminate chistianity when they had the chance. If the Romans had done that islam would have been crushed in its infancy as well.

Ross Mk3 1910 action build- Who wants to help me spend some money!

Necro thread but: There is a Ross mk3 in 303 British cheap for sale in my area, where they are rare. The rifle has been bubbad so; What do you think of converting it to 6.5PRC? Is the action strong enough? If I survive, literally, a visit to the hospital in April, this could be a fun project.

Prefit match barrels with test target?

@lash I'm not trying to convince anyone. From the start I just wanted to know if I could buy an action, just let's say Defiance, and then buy 3 barrels from Brownells, put things together myself in 15 minutes and go shooting. And then maybe prioritize the barrels for competition and practice due...

Prefit match barrels with test target?

The Blaser matchbarrels is monstly untouched by human hands in the production process. Producing barrels like this keeps the price down for a top quality product. I don't see a problem with that. Here is a video from GFM that shows the principle of hammering a barrel with chamber. Just think of...

Prefit match barrels with test target?

Schultz & Larsen are cutting the chambers and milling the lockinglugs on their own cut rifled blanks in Denmark. Våpensmia, in Norway, cut chambers and mill lockinglugs on blanks from Schultz & Larsen, Heym and Lothar Walther. Blaser hammerforges rifling and chamber in one go and then mill...
