Summit Build : follow my mental illness journey

I can confirm. I have an original PWS and the trigger is on par with a factory Ruger trigger with a Kidd trigger kit.

    Proof Research Rim Fire Barrels

I have a 16.1" on a light CZ build. It doesn't shoot bad, but not as good as the price would suggest. If you were specifically looking for weight savings, Acculite would be more kind to your pocketbook. I only went for the Proof because I saw a great Black Friday deal on one last year and the...

Leupold 8-32, 34mm tube ring height

Doubtful. I just put a Leupold Mark 4HD 6-24x52mm with a 25MOA rail on a CZ 457. I used the Warne Mountain Tech 'Low' rings and I don't have much clearance off the barrel.

    CZ 457

You can say that again! Throw a Proof CF barrel on it and it is a featherweight.

    NRL22 - New Hampshire - It's happening, you coming?

I was referring to Scarborough Fish & Game. Sounds they and Sunset Mtn suffer the same short sightedness.

    NRL22 - New Hampshire - It's happening, you coming?

This is great news! The times I went to SFGA, it seemed like NRL22 was not wanted there. I'm looking forward to heading out there to shoot and help out any way I can.

    Bolt action .22LR

That might be an issue, the Scout has a 12" LOP, the Lux would be the next best bet for open sights, with a 13.75" LOP. You could probably coax and extra 1/2"-1" with recoil pads/spacers until it's time to go full size. The iron sight requirement is going to be more limiting than LOP. You can...

    Bolt action .22LR

The scout is a great option. You can always swap it to a full-size stock or chassis when he grows out of the smaller stock and you can even easily swap out to heavier/longer barrels if he shows interest in benchrest or precision shooting.

What 22lr ammo should I be looking at?

Don't ask us, ask your rifle. Make a date with it, buy a charcuterie board of mid-to high quality ammo and see what happens.

    Name says it all

No need to mess with base class and the $1300 MSRP cap (it was raised this year). NRL22 2024 Rules Old Guns (OG) is open for those seasoned 60 years and older and the Adaptive Division is for anyone with restrictive range of motion. The $1300 MSRP cap SEVERALLY limits what rifle/scope combo you...

How much do your rimfire competition rifles weigh?

    15.5lb if I remember correctly. 3lb 2oz. You didn't specify WHAT competition. :p

    Which 22LR

Thanks, it has been a joy to build and shoot. The stock was hydro-dipped M-81 from the factory (Grayboe).

NRL22 Base Class optics, reticles and zero stop

Yeah, if you qualify for OG, all the much more reason to just purchase and shooter whatever pleases you. That said, you can still win OG and whatever other division you qualify for. I was at a NRL22X match a couple of years ago and saw a young lady win Ladies,Young Guns and came real close to...

NRL22 Base Class optics, reticles and zero stop

Classification is separate from Divisions. Base is still capped at $1300 for the 2024 season. From the 2024 Rulebook: Any match hosted within the NRL22’s umbrella of events has four classifications – Novice, Marksman, Sharpshooter, and Expert. Classifications are based on experience...
