Rifle Scopes Switched from Aimpoint to EOtech thanks to US Optics!

I still run a couple of Armson OEG and have replaced the tritium on both of them myself (only solution these days). They're great for getting iron sight trained personnel off the front sight, front sight, front sight concept. Of course, one can just close a front cover on a red dot and...

    Image Stabalized Binos

Low dispersion does not mean contrast. Everyone has low dispersion, high definition. Bright and sharp is easy. I'll let you in on a little secret. The new EL range finding binoculars are not working. Some say it's because to get the laser to work one or more of the coatings is missing and...

    Image Stabalized Binos

Yes, the blind leading the blind. What's "funny" is we can all accept the fact that people can't sing. One of the biggest reasons for that is hearing. If you don't hear correctly, you can't sing correctly. Lots can be done about that. It's not so easy to change someone's acuity. The...

    Image Stabalized Binos

Contrast is soooooo hard, like $3,000 hard. It's really hard to describe, it's only an experience. And the experience is being able to see the difference between organic brown and inorganic brown at hundreds of yards or greater. No one is using Canon binoculars to spot Coues whitetail because...

    Image Stabalized Binos

I agree the Canon's are great .... bright, sharp and stable. They are the perfect binocular for folks who don't have great color acuity. Bright and sharp is easy, contrast is really really tough. The best pair of image stabilized binoculars are the big Zeiss 20x60 because they do contrast...

    Accurate scale?

The Gempro 250 or the 500 is a great scale. There's nothing wrong with it and used properly will not drift. What helps is to use a line conditioner like a Tripp Lite and a grounded static pad. The strain gauges it uses are German manufacture and that's what makes it superior to most in it's...

    Finding "Nodes" on your rifle

http://precisionrifle.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/incremental-load-development-method.pdf You kind of need to know your maximum load and work backwards and you need a chronograph. Max. load -.2gr to -.5gr increments backwards for 20 shots. You'll probably have 2 nodes in those 20 shots, 3 to...

    Frustrated!

I like this tool. RCBS Precision Mic 308 Winchester Measure a fired case with it and then set a body die so it bumps the shoulder .001". Don't need to bump more than .001" in a bolt gun. Very easy to use and quite accurate. Setting the body die is easy. Close your press and run the die...

Maggie’s People who carry guns concealed are "Douchebags?"

Yes, in Arizona, if one has a concealed carry permit and the establishment serving alcohol doesn't have a "no firearms" sign. Not allowed to drink, though.

How to mount leica 1600 to tripod?

Didn't think it would but I'll just use some foam or something to make the Leica wider. Don't want to crush it in a PIG anyway. It may fit sideways, though, and my ball head will do a 90 degree.

How to mount leica 1600 to tripod?

I don't but Leica does make a tripod mount. Little spendy. I'd rather use a PIG mount which I've never tried before but since you brought it up, thanks for the idea. Leica - Camera Land NY P.I.G. Saddle - Hog Saddle

    Range Report .300 Blackout

It's just not possible. Look what you're trying to achieve. You take a bullet that's longer than the case and jam it down so it's next to the primer. So the primer goes off and powder deflagration acts in a very random way on the sides of the bullet as it's pushing it past the neck. For top...

    Maggie’s Camara Land Amazon Ad

I'm a big fan of Camara Land but this Vortex Amazon ad made me chuckle a bit. That's a hell of a cheek weld. Is that how they do it in New York? No offense intended. Amazon.com: Vortex® StrikeFire Red Dot Rifle Scope(Suitable for AR-15): Sports & Outdoors

    Stainless tumbling options

Yes, exceeding the 15lb capacity will shorten the life of a Thumler B starting with having to switch out the drive belt as it burns through them. The drive belt will last for year and years if you stay under capacity. What's nice is everything is serviceable or replaceable. Just be prepared...

    Stainless tumbling options

That's a lot of pins in a 15lb tumbler. My ratio is 5lbs of pins, 7lbs of water (1 gallon) and 2-3lbs of brass. So are you leaving out the water or the brass in your ratio?
