Here we go! I don’t know if I’ll make it to a match but the gun is built

Impact 737 w/ TriggerTech 2 Stage
6.5 Creedmoor Bartlein 24” CF w/ Area 419 Hellfire
Foundation Revelation w/ Rail
CKYE 2 Pull (but probably will have to go to make weight)
Razor Gen 2 4.5-27 in a Sphur 4002

She is at 15#-13oz

I’ll probably try to shot some 147 ELDM with some H4350 at about 2600ish

I got the 147's just over 2800 with 4350, should be even easier with RL-16.

I don’t compete at any level, so maybe this is a dumb question. Couldn’t you lose almost a pound by ditching the Spuhr, using a lightweight rail (like the SRS/UM hunters rail), and ditching the scope wrap (and maybe the shade and caps)?

Oh for sure!
But even if I loose the weight with the Sphur, I wouldn’t be able to run the Ckye Pod… I wanna get as close to 16 without going over… like Black jack

Good use of the Bravo/X-ray forend on the W3 to save a bunch of weight. I’ve looked at that option before and haven’t ever seen it in the wild

The Hunter series are now driving the requirement for self-ranging in the most efficient manner based on a time requirement.

Any idea what the rifle weighs without the scope, scope mount and bipod? That is my dream build!

I've been going back and forth with either an 18" or 20" barrel on a 6.5prc hunting rifle. You may have just helped me make up my mind.

For hunting, I actually swap out the PRC on this setup for a 7 SAUM 18in Carbon Six barrel.

I wish they made 6.5 PRC Proof Carbon prefits shorter than 22". 22" + 7" can is a joust inside of a deer stand.

If it is just for hunting get a lighter profile steel barrel, though if you're just sitting in a stand I wouldn't worry about the weight.

He's not talking about weight, he's talking about maneuvering a fence post. Once you slap a can on, everything over 20" in barrel length will make you feel like you're about to have the stop the Brits from taking Concord.

Right, and you can get a steel barrel in just about any length you'd like. Why spend the extra money for carbon which is usually lighter, if you're sitting in a stand?

I could have a barrel threaded for my action in a shorter length, but pre-fits are just too easy. I am not worried about it at the moment, I wont need a shorter 6.5 PRC until next year so I have time to work it all out.

18” krieger 6.5 creed and using factory 140eldm cause I couldn’t make power factor with what I tried. Just bedded the 10” arcalok on there last week. 11lbs 13oz as you see it.

Carbon 6 will chamber it and cut threads as well.

I thought the point of NRL Hunter was to compete with a rifle you'd actually hunt with. Why is everyone using what would've been a PRS rifle 3 years ago? I see some rule changes coming in the near future.

Good point, it does appear that the gamer aspect is still very alive and well in the Hunter series. I haven't shot a NRL Hunter yet but I have been doing a lot of recon on the topic and talking to others who have and it appears the field is split between those there to game it and walk the prize table and those there for the initial intended purpose of competing with their hunting setup and/or to cross-train. Next year I will give it a go the first time around with my general hunting rifle in .308, after all the whole point is for me to use this is as a cross-training tool for hunting. It's apparent most are taking advantage of the flatter calibers regardless of whether or not they hunt with that caliber, for hunting inside of 500 I'd personally never take a 6.5 over a 308 but I can see the appeal for those who actually want to compete and podium. IMHO, to make it more in line with a hunting setup/style comp they really should cap the heavy class at 12lbs and the light class at 10lbs, that would definitely cut down on the gamer mentality.

Hope to get out to one soon. Will have to use factory 6.5cm ammo due to inability to make power factor with reloads.

The rules won't change, and if they do, it'll be minor changes. Rules are pretty simple, 12 pounds for open light and factory. 16 pounds for open heavy and team. In the end, regardless of what you use the hunter series for, it's still a game that people choose to play for whatever reason they choose.

Going to be starting a 65cm heavy hunter class rifle myself. Starting with my zermatt Ti3, march 4.5-28, triple pull, and one of my existing chassis/stock(have hnt26, Manners pro hunter and a element 4.0mg). I'm thinking a 24" hvy or medium palma in 7.5tw to shoot 156s between 2550-2650fps.

I've been okay with it. I love shooting supressed, but I'm changing my setup for next year. I just feel that I lose too much information because of the recoil. It's not as bad on longer shots, but the closer stuff I sometimes don't see where I miss at. Next year will be a 25 Creedmoor shooting open heavy.
