Put the twist locks on top, then I’ll spend $1300 on one.

Edit: watched Frank's vid. I wouldn't be interested in this at all for a range tripod with center column but rather a hunting field tripod for glassing/shooting seated or kneeling without a center column to be solid AF but still weight conscious for packing up the mountains. Just need to get those twist locks where they belong for more efficient deployment.

@wind gypsy Most definitely designed for weight conscious backpacking seated/kneeling.

As far as inverting the legs, when designing a tripod this compact for lightweight and packing in your bag, the inverted tripod isn’t a solution without adding size and weight. Since the twist locks are on top, the apex has to get a lot bigger in order to allow the legs to close completely for transport. Same reason we haven’t made any of the TFCT tripods Inverted. Inverted definitly have their place, hence us design our first a few years back. But for packable it didn’t fit the size mold needed.

Appreciate the criticism and will post it to the engineers for sure!

Thank you for taking the time to respond and share the limitations of using inverted legs.

In regards to being packable - my tripods basically never go in a bag but rather get strapped to the outside of them where space is not that constrained. That even includes my little 2# tripod and pan head combos. If it sticks out a couple more inches that is of no concern. I'd be fine with the 22i width if you could get 1 series legs roughly that size with TFCT config. If there is something that would cause that to add a half # that I'm overlooking, maybe the juice isn't worth it but I dont see why it would?

I get the inverted legs on the full sized tripods, they do work very well,

But on compact, field / spotting tripod where only a few people will actually be able to shoot of it unless sitting or kneeling, I highly doubt the leg adjustment will matter in the big picture

    This isn;t that,

And go talk to a SHEEP HUNTER vs anyone else hunting, pack weight and size is definitely an option.

@wind gypsy It simply comes down to how many tripods you want to make and carry vs how mugh interest there is in models. Since we make everything we could technically make 1000’s of sizes but for the extreme size and weight people we have had tons of requests for this. People that put the gear in their bags, people that travel international, others that have to cut 1/2-1lbs continuously to make weight in their little back county cub planes.

We are working through more stuff at the company right now, but the goal is someday to get to a custom builder. You can specify your apex the leg series, section, inverted, etc. just have to figure out how to manage the orders and the assembly process. Sooner or later you’ll be able to make exactly what you want specified by you if this one doesn’t fit your need.
