Will I notice any real difference between a 13.9" and my 14.5" barrel, both Faxon Gunner profile?

Why would you want a 13.9 if not Pinned and Welded? I’d do 12.5 or 14.5The can is direct thread. I'm really just asking about performance.
What metric of performance?I'm really just asking about performance.
You can hit at 650 with a 10.5" if you really want to, but none of the lengths discussed here are optimal for it.Do you think a 12.5" would be good? I'd like to still be able to hit at 650yd
Agreed. 650 is pushing towards the limits of a 5.56 gun for most people…if that’s your goal, the longer the better. What metric of performance?

Does it shoot softer because of less dwell time?
Maybe. Maybe not. I've got a fleet of 14.5" barrels. I've got one 13.7", and it averages 75fps slower than the fastest 14.5", it's the same or slightly faster than the slowest 14.5". What does all this mean? Not a great benefit in weight and handling, and then the tax stamp and about 50 fps loss, keep in mind with 223/5.56 every inch you cut off from 16 is a case of diminishing returns, the fps loss can get drastic eventually creating a fast 22. 14.5 is about as low as I would go, I have one and do enjoy it.
For OAL with a suppressor, your mounting system is going to matter. For instance, with Griffin Plan A, the muzzle device to take a 13.9 to 16” is longer than the device for a 14.5 in the “neck” area, not the mounting surface. What this means is that with an identical can attached to two rifles, one a 13.9 and one a 14.5, the OAL of the 13.9 with a can is only like .1” shorter than the 14.5. So in that situation, it doesn’t make a ton of sense.
Glad it helped. I’m still going to do a 13.7 anyway, even though I have the 14.5 tooThis is such amazing information, how I never thought of it/noticed it before, I don't know. I've agonized over that length difference and I have both. My 13.9 has a Griffin FH 2.75 and the 14.5 has a Griffin Stealth FH, both p/w - top picture is the neck, there is some difference in tine length as well.
