MDT introduces the HNT26! A 26 Ounce Carbon Fiber Hunting Chassis.

I went through all 10 page and might have missed it.
Questions
1. What is the actual weight of the MDT HNT 26 LA arca, folder chassis?
2. Does the LA Hawkins hunter magazine fit/work in the chassis?

Thanks
1) My R700 SA folder w/ arca and screws is 30.05 oz

2) I have used both the Hawkins Hunter mag and MDT AICS SA mags w/o issue

Does anyone know how heavy you can make it? I’m wanting to use it as a hunting rifle, but crossover to PRS. How many weights can be added?
I would not want to use my HNT26 with a heavy barrel and weights. The buttstock is very light, and it would get pretty far out of balance. Plus, the foreend is very short, and I also don’t have much faith in those 3 tiny foreend screws to hold weights.

Something like an XLR magnesium might work better as you could swap the buttstock as well as add weights up front as needed.

Couple things as I build my new rifle:

The MK Machining Precision Crossover Vertical grip is fantastic:

And the Accurate Mag 3 round 300 PRC mag is pretty nice for a hunting setup:

If you are looking at the Remington 700 LA in that combo, it's 31 oz. As long as it's a 3.850" CIP-length magazine, you will be good to go.

No, the 300 WM won't work. We will be launching a 7MM PRC 3-round magazine, which is going to be the closest shot at proper function, but you will be best suited with a 3.850 300 WM magazine and bending the feed lips out slightly.

When are you coming out with polymer 3.56 mag for Tikka la? My hnt 26 la folder was 39 oz by the time I added spacers for a normal lop and the 7 oz metal mag. Not really lightweight anymore

Nothing is planned right now, but we will see what the future holds.

This is why I'm asking so many question. I have a Manners Pro hunter mini stock with Hawkins DBM and mag at 35oz. I know weight is everything but I really like the SA hunt 26 I have my 22 mag in and thought I might try a LA for a hunting rifle but really don't want to add more weight. Thanks for all the great info here.

Has anyone mounted a clip on NV or IR on the fore end? I’ve been thinking about it, but can’t wrap my head around the height I would need with scope rings.
The way that the HNT-26 is setup is that to run a forward mounted optic on the forend, you need to use the High Scope Base on your action and an M-Lok picatinny rail on the m-lok slots on top of the forend. It will not perfectly align (the scope base is at 20 MOA and the top of the forend is flat) however, it will coalign with most ring heights!
