    The Cold&Humid North
Need to make a trip to Montgomery, Alabama sometime this summer. Probably just for a couple of days. Visiting family friends that moved there last summer from lower Mich.. Trying to get my traveling mojo back up and running again. Not real motivated with all the crap happening at the border. Trying to be smart and not put us in a situation. Like to go back to Florida and head to Daytona Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Canaveral. But...people we are visiting can't do long days in the car. So, there's that. So I need local area stuff to see/do.
Thanks for any, and all help you people suggest. Mac

If you like Americana, country music, etc., ya gotta see the Hank Williams Museum. Also his memorial, and the statue.

Too bad you were not going toward Decatur or Tuscumbia. You could go to the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio.

"Now Muscle Shoals, they got the Swampers.
And they have been known to pick a song or two.
Lord, they get me off so much. They pick me up when I'm feeling blue.
    Now, how about you?"

As a matter of fact...I do! Have list started and will add. Thanks! Mac(y)

Now there's music I haven't head in awhile. Will add to my list and check mileage.

Second these! Lot of cool stuff around there. I'm sure you already know and everyone here is going to reiterate it, make damn sure you are armed if at all possible.

I hear that if you go down to the marina and move some boats around, You can get on CNN!

Take bus tour. Tell locals to get in back where they belong.

Will be a short exciting trip!

If you are driving 65 South, Prattville AL, is a nice place to stretch legs and do what people need to do when driving distances. Bass pro and Milo’s makes it our pit stop in both directions. The road work in Montgomery getting off @65/231 was finally completed couple of years ago making it a smooth ride. Can’t help much with Montgomery, safe travels.

Haven’t visited in a while, but the Brew Pub in Montgomery was pretty good. Close to the capitol building as I recall.

If you’re in Daytona for a few days, there’s an Sig Outpost not too far. You can shoot some type of handgun match every Saturday and Sunday and a couple of weeks days. They also have (I believe) 1k for LR. @lash could tell you more about that.

Up the road a bit... if you're into bikes/cars

Yep. Went there in 2010 on a m/c trip to Florida. Great time. Mac(y)

Not super close, but the Providence Canyon, aka the Little Grand Canyon is a neat place to check out.

In the same area is the “Little White House” in Warm Springs. It was one of Roosevelts houses

Like Eufala is nice, and the town is pretty cool with the old housing districts. Iffin your on a motorscooter, make sure it’s not loud or you will probably get a ticket. That’s my experience some 15 ish years ago there anyway
