"Greetings all: I am the person who goes by the handle cuirc. I came to shoot the match (or more correctly participate in the match, from New York (probably the only one who drove that far). Many people I spoke to, after being surprised by finding out that someone approaching 80, would do that, for a rifle match, asked me if I was having fun. Well, yes! I was and I am glad I came. it was overwhelming; health permitting (it should) I will be back next year. Hopefully a lot better prepared to participate.
I would like to recognize and thank the Organizers, Directors, RO’s and all the other people that made this an awesome event happen, particularly people like Peter Kneip and the many nameless individuals that worked so hard.
I was particularly impressed by the friendly atmosphere generated by the participants and the felling of welcome to a stranger from the east was afforded. Several individuals were very helpful to me and I want to particularly thank them. And hope to see them at a future match. I think this event is a significant example of what we Americans and Canadians are all about."
