ok thanks
None of my chambers are “tight necked” and the time and effort to get a tight necked chamber and keep a supply of brass neck turned for it would be time and effort wasted. No turn necks and no-prep alpha brass is shooting between .3 and .5 from a barricade and nothing would be gained by trying to get that down to .2-.4.

Practice over prep-work.

what the wall thickness with the alpha brass ?

You talk to enough shooters (I had the same experience with my 6.5 & 6BR Peterson) they’ll tell you they get lots of clicky’s aka rounds that don’t go off. And early pressure compared to Lapua or alpha.

ok thanks that’s what i wanted to hear thanks i’ve always been a lapua person but brass is hard to fine so guess i will try alpha .

Very happy with Alpha, the only weird thing I noticed is primer depth pocket out of SAAMI spec. I bought the primer precision gauge from Accuracy one recently and got 0.113” of primer pocket depth with Alpha Brass out of the box. Also my Petersons are slightly out of spec at 0.116”. SAAMI says 0.117” to 0.123” I am not keen to shave material out of the primer pocket, but since primers I use (cci450 and 205m) are perfectly in spec at 0.120” I am still asking myself whether I am crunching them too much.

The Small Rifle and PPC/BR uniformer are the same diameter, however the difference is in the depth of the cutting surface. The PPC will cut a few thousandths deeper, on average the small rifle will cut down to .120" and the PPC/BR will cut to .122" to accomodate the specifications on the PPC flash hole. Thanks

.113 to .120 is quite a bit of crush...IMHO to much. I uniform all of my primer pockets for the reasons you mention in your post and have used just about every PP tool they make. If you decide to uniform PP I would suggest you get the PMA tool, it is made just a bit smaller so that it does not cut into the side walls.
