Custom Shell Holder Question

Looking to see where can I buy customized shell holders. Similar to what Redding offers but I need to decrease the "floor of SH to Die base" height instead. I don't have access to a mill or similar equipment that can take 0.00X" off the top of the shell holder. I have a hand grinder and table grinder which are last resort options.

-Current Hornady shell holder for .308 family is 0.125".
-Wanting around 0.121-0.122".

and no, a hand file won't work. ;-)

You can do one of two things:

1) get some fine-grit sand paper, put a little oil on it, lay it flat on a bench, then move the shell holder around until a couple thousandths are gone.

2) go to a local machine shop, pay $50 or so and have it done with a more professional finish.

You should probably try some sand paper.
Put the sand paper on a flat surface and then rub the top of the shell holder on it until you get the desired result.

Reducing the "A" measurement will also reduce the other measurement you are aiming it.

It's honestly pretty hard to mess up. Just use long, even movements and don't apply much pressure. This will help to make it more even across the face of the shell holder.
