I picked up a MDT Field stock for coyote hunting and was looking to see if anyone has figured an ARCA rail that will run closer to the magwell. I am not a fan of having my tripod clipped in so far forward. I know the stock only has a few Mlok spots up front but not the full length. I would assume a longer rail supported only in the 4 slots would be sufficient? I wanted to see what others have done before I bust out the dremel and drill.

Good question and we haven't really run into anyone needing a full length dovetail yet on the Field Stock! A few options would work including:
I can't say I have seen a Field Stock yet with a full dovetail however, so your feedback may be limited right now!

Not sure of the actual field stock construction/if it would support this approach but its a hybrid of Joshes recommendations however non mdt in components, but its the idea that Im trying to convey:

on a magpul hunter I used an area 419 universal flat arca rail. The front bits I used 2 mclock nuts in their rightful mlock spots. But for the back half I just drilled some holes through the stock and turned the mlock nuts upside down so that the flats of the nuts were pressed up flat against the stock plastic.

According to the mdt page the fore end is 11.87" long and looks to be completely flat so a full sized shouldnt pose too much issue.

I have a cheap 9.4" one coming that I plan to do exactly that, remove the protrusion.
I appreciate the information, ill let you know how it goes.

BTW
Removing the rear action screw is a PITA on this stock. I assume you guys meant for it to be captive by the grip.

Yeah we designed this chassis (as well as others like the XRS) to capture action screws as best as possible as it prevents the user from losing them when removing their action for whatever reason. It's fairly uncommon for people to want to replace their action screws, so I am curious to know why you wanted to remove yours?

I am running a solus action and the action screw (when torqued) just did rub the bottom of the bolt.
I had to remove about 1 thread to keep it from scrubbing.
