Help... First custom bolt gun

While they are waiting they can read this 14 page post of people who have bought prefits from them.

I’ll admit when I’m wrong. Sja tried to drag a customer on here not pva. Pva gets a mild down vote from me for using mediocre blanks.

Either way I thinking recommending a gunsmith who just shipped off something for coating is generally not an acceptable basis to rec a gunsmith.

You should submit all of your “recommendations” to the HMFIC for adoption. I think your just what this place needs to get with the times.

Sure. Alex wheeler cuts my barrels. I’ve had work done from and support Altus, LRI, and a419. I would also trust sac. I use only bartlein, krieger or proof barrels.

I recommend and use the best in the industry and those smiths are rarely argued to not be among the absolute best.

So you had absolutely zero machine work done by them. They just sent your ring off to throw in to a batch of dlc. And yet you’re rec them as a gunsmith…..

They make cheap pre fits which is only possible by doing half ass machine work then they don’t take responsibility when they half ass that work and get caught. But that’s cool a third party coated your ring good?
I gotta ask bud, has PVA done anything for YOU personally or did the internet tell you they are bad? Just asking.

Not white-knighting anyone, Im tired of "I saw this on the internet so now Ill run my mouth" bullshit. I dont give a shit if youre a bigwig on here.

SoMeOnE mAdE FuN of My ChEaP PrE-FiTS.

Pay for a real gunsmith to do your work, you can review the lists of reputable gunsmith above. - sorry none charge 425 for a prefit barrel made by someone you’ve never heard of.

So thats a "no" then?

Have you ever wondered why their prefits come from a completely unknown barrel manufacturer?

You’re shooting a super low quality barrel machined by a shop that’s known to have issues.

But sure tell us all how those things somehow don’t matter and you’re right

So the correct answer still is "no I dont have one and am relying on the opinion of internet randos and conjecture". Thanks for your input 😁

You must be new here. I actually use my firearms and know some things about accuracy. I wish you the best with your budget guns

Look dude, this doesnt have to be hostile. Ill never dispute the fact that a Bartlien or Krieger spun up by a top-tier smith is better than a PVA, but for someone on a budget that wants to shoot is this the hill to die on? Especially if you dont have personal experience to go off? I dont own a PVA either Im just trying to point out the fallacy of relying on strangers anecdotes from the internet. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t promote cheap barrels and people report issues with their prefits so no I wouldn’t recommend them. I don’t see why that’s hard for you.

I recommend people that do good work and can be trusted. ESPECIALLY if this is your first gun and you have no experience or business diagnosing issues.

If someone wants to build a gun I recommend a $800 proof prefit and an origin. Those are products I know and trust and have a strong position in the industry. Not whatever the fuck a $125 osprey is.

If someone can’t afford that they need to go tikka. Building the cheapest thing you can in a precision based hobby sounds fundamentally stupid to me but maybe we should listen to them man with a plastic bipod instead.

Oh you got me. My bipod in that picture defintely decides the argument in your favor. Well done! Since you focus so much on money spent for performance, can I also assume you pay someone to satisfy your wife?

If you can afford a Nightforce you can afford good rings and a bipod but you chose not to. That tells us a lot about how much you value and understand quality gear.

You actually spent more time attacking me than combating any facts - for a gunsmith you don’t use? But sure cry about me being mean to you on the internet

I responded to your attacks first. Your entire argument is based on snobbery and anecdotes from the internet with zero personal experience, then try to point to my BIPOD of all things to discredit my opinions. Also my rings? What? Clearly you have no substantive things to offer besides nitpicking my gear. Jesus dude you need to go touch grass.

You presented zero facts about anything, so I don’t know what you came here to do.

I just wanted to see how mad you’d get over the plastic bipod comment - it’s cheap and not good but you’re too easy to mess with

But for real your entire setups is from 2008. Things have changed

Im sure they have, but that was a bucket list rifle for me so I have it now. Appeal to novelty is a fallacy.

I will. He says pva uses a no name blank but anyone who isn’t a retard and can read knows exactly what blank they are using.

Pva makes a great barrel.

Exactly. They are Osprey blanks and they are excellent barrels. I have used many other brands over the years and I have some Ospreys now and I am impressed with them. Very accurate and clean up very easily. You get nothing more from other barrels.

Also who says PVA prefits are budget or cheap? They run the same as many others and more than some. They are quality prefits and accurate. If you haven't tried one then you don't know.

The PVA of today is far from when the company started and had some hiccups. If you want to keep dredging up old history and not the present then not sure what to say.
