My build “inspired by” the Honey Badger—certainly not a clone. The KAK short buffer plus Magpul SL-M lets it collapse down almost as short as the HB brace does. It’s got a 6” barrel, so more of an in-between on the Rattler and HB length wise. I’ve obviously got the tucked rail, but I think that will be changed in the future—I discuss some of the pros and cons in the video. Anyone else have a similar build?

Very nice. One thing you could do for adjustable gas is drop in a Bootleg Adjustable Carrier. Adjusts through the ejection port, so no need to even disassemble or anything. Throw in a winter trigger guard and off to the races.

I didn’t hear if you rattle-canned or Cerakoted it.

Forgot to mention it, but just spray paint. And yes, I have a Bootleg for my AR-10, which is a good option. I’m going to be going bufferless on this build in the future, though…

Hmmm…. Now I’m wondering how a 6(ish) inch or maybe 7.5” 300BLK barrel would work on my PDW named “James”… serial #007, LoL. Currently sporting a 9” 300BLK barrel with a Bootleg rail I cut down to ~7 inches.

Gears turning.

I do like running some cans under rails, but generally only on 16” or longer barrels. Or 12.5” in this case, LoL; it now has a hand guard wrap like the PCC below:

…but also on this SBR’d 10” PCC in .45ACP:

…and on my thumper upper: 10” 450BM with an 11” Bowers 458 Versa can, LoL

Rarely get off more than a couple shots at a time with those though, so not too much concern with heat buildup…but yeah, gloves. Always!

I’ve tried to do a circumcised SBR build a couple of times. Both times I moved away from the “tucked” suppressor in favor of shorter rails. Shorter rails are lighter, can be thinner, and pose fewer suppressor associated problems.

“What do I do if I want to shoot unsuppressed for some reason? Do I replace the rail? Should I get a blast forwarding device? What a pain.”

“Fuck, I removed the suppressor, but the fucking adapter stayed with the mount. Now I need to remove the rail to remove the adapter. What a pain.”

Yup! V2.0 will have a different rail most likely.
