Feedback Avoid Fraud With This Feature

I've been a long term lurker here and there...pulled the trigger on a 6.5 Tikka CTR in SS barrel last year and lurking for a scope. Think I'm going to go with Doug for a Cronus G2 once I get a little extra cash but I have been wondering why are all the classified listing only accepting PP via friends and family. As a buyer Im more than happy adding an extra 3% back if it provides some potential where I can get a scammer to kick rocks. I've been scammed via money order for a headlight back in the day so it's a never again scenario.
PP doesn’t allow transactions for firearms. Probably the reason most of us no longer use it.
Think I got scammed yesterday. Sellers name was: Dave102269.
Had 8 positive feedbacks on his account. We communicated strictly over PM’s. Went to message him today to check on tracking and the messages are all gone. I tried the email link when the messages came in and they are saying the requested message could not be found.

Apologies Cody. My account was hacked Monday and it's taken some effort to get it cleaned up. I've seen at least three transaction attempts by this guy. Sorry you got scammed...

Got scammed by a guy on the forums. he got me for 300 dollars for a usmc GG&G M14 scope mount . Seems like I've had a run of bad luck with crap people in the gun world of late.
I asked for picture of the mount with small note next to it saying sold to baker72 i received the picture.
so I sent the usps mo and then the games started.
his name here is QT101 he is now banned but I'm sure he is scamming on other sites

its at the point now on all these gun forums they are all imfested with these piles of filth. We need something like a escrow company to hold the money until item is received then funds are released to the seller.

I recently posted "seconds" on a post. Later got a text message from 520-217-9403 saying I could buy the item. It felt weird because I did not post a phone number. Only seconds. I messaged the seller. He told me the item was sold and that he never contacted me via phone / text message. Be careful out there.
I wanting to buy a scope off the PX, but I too am worried about getting scammed. The person could and mostly likely is legit. Is there any other ways to vet the sellers?
Is there a way to flag a scammer. Zero chance this guy trying to sell me a chassis is real. His account was created in 2008 but probably hacked.

If you just have to buy something from a place other than a legit bricks & mortar business or known good online business- insist on face to face transactions only, preferably only from people you already know. Do it in the parking lot of a Law Enf office/station because they all have security cameras.

go into their member page, click their name, and then click their name in the drop down, then there is a report tab on the right ish side
Dave above isn't listed as a supporter and couldn't have posted a FS ad, so why would you buy from him? Or did you post a WTB ad?
Might want to edit that one photo with your name and phone number. Just a thought
Well got scammed out of a trigger for $220, sent payment and was told I would get tracking, never did. I have a WTB theead for a Geissele trigger.
User was @Michaelvoigt1, member since 2003, looked at their post history after and last time was 2017 I think, so I think the account got hacked and today the account is banned. Lame.
Oddly enough just got an offer to sell me same trigger from another user, Same price as the scam. Wondering if they are a scammer, they have no feedback, but claim they have a reference, another user with no feedback, but their messages are worded kind of strangely.
Not trying to put someone legit on blast but I’m defiantly hesitant now.
I removed their usernames because I don’t know if they are legit or not. If an admin wants to investigate I can provide that info to them.

A WTB ad is a giant neon invitation sign that reads "Rip Me Off".
I wasn’t trying to accuse him. I hope he’s not a scammer but just feels sketchy. I wasn’t really trying to call him out individually but it’s just super odd that just as I got scammed I get another offer to sell me the same thing for the same price. I was hoping mods could look into it and see if there was something sketchy. The account listed as reference has no feedback and I looked and saw they had posted that some other user was a good seller, well that user had no feedback and I think their account was banned. So it got me thinking, a scammer account could post another scammer account as legit, so they could more easily scam.
This seems to be the defacto buy/sell/trade suspicious user check thread so here goes. I haven't been on here much since the re-design, I should probably just plunk down for supporter, anyway. Posted on one guys thread about wanting to buy a stock. another User in question PM's me with a similar stock for sale, his english is like 98% but seems a little off. User has 1 sell feedback, by other user with low feedback. So I ask for a sticky note with name and date before committing. This seems pretty obviously digitally added. Should I bail? I guess this is a sanity check more than anything.

Run don’t walk. Post the user name so a mod can ban them.

Please report this stuff. There's a button on most posts to do this. Frank has often commented how useless just posting about these scammers is.
Ive posted my fair share of WTB ads. If they don’t have feedback, don’t buy anything. Ever. Look at their recent posts. FaceTime them.

I just got scammed by a person claiming to be a member here. They saw that I sent a message to original seller(pm sent), then looked up my email, sent an email to me claiming they were seller accepting the offer and sent me their PP. I fell for it, went against what I normally do and got scammed. Don't fall for it. I just wanted all to know here. It sucks and I hate a thief.
I am 99% sure @Shootin25 is a scammer. Tried to sell me a brake.
Account has been dormant since 2020. Venmo account was from some girl, and his name didnt match. I asked for a video chat of the item and he refused.
Avoid this dickhead, but I am sure they are just hacking/logging into dormant accounts. There have been so many data breaches, its not surprising.
