According to Erik D Prince’s twitter account, the sniper that took out the assassin was 488 yards out.

We know that the (2) different 2-man sniper teams kitted in black, visible by every media camera at the event, did not take the kill shot.

Can anyone confirm?

The more details are coming in the more terrifying is the realization of just how close it had been yesterday. It was not a "bad wind estimate". A 5.56 at 3200 FPS within 150 yards would not really be affected by the wind that much. It was Trump being energetic in his speech and moving around that saved him. He turned his head sideways just as the freak pulled the trigger. If he had not turned in that time, the shot would have entered his ear. That little shit, for all the "so bad at shooting that he was rejected from his HS rifle team" angle that the press is going for, had been dead on in his aim. Even with bystanders having spotted him and were yelling and trying to distract him...

Really? The flags on the podium indicate a full value wind for the shooter. A 10mph FV wind at 150 yards will drift a 223 round 1.88 moa. At 150 yards that's 2.8 inches.

No matter what, this was a goat screw from start to finish. The guy who coached the junior rifle team that refused to let this kid join because he was a terrible shot...............................................was apparently wrong. The idiots who left that huge blind spot parking lot uncovered next to the building with the blind covered walkway that allowed a concealed way to climb to a concealed rooftop should be fired. The local cop who managed to climb to the roof and apparently never mention to anyone or radio anyone about the shooter should be fired. A lot of people should be fired.

You may be far more experienced in the exact ballistics of a high speed smallbore than I am, that is why I will not argue against any of your points, but one thing is certain:

That POS was more "proficient" than what the MSM is trying to make him out to be. Anything in that 2.8 inch window would have been fatal had Trump not turned his head right as the fucker shot...

He's wrong.

He is also wrong about the shooter's approach to the building. The ladder is on the other side in the photographs.

The two sniper teams were on the same group of buildings, just on two different ones. The shot was much closer than 488 yards. He is the only one claiming that, and there are other details that appear to be wrong as well. It was probably an assessment made based on early information that has turned out not to be true as more information comes out.

If the 488yd shot is true, since we know the faggot was shot between the eyes, it means the team that took the shot was set up on the structures in the bottom right corner of his image near the runway. Not sure that adds up, but I wasn't there.

You and Erik Prince and the former Navy Seal sniper who fed him the information, and me, we all have that in common. None of us were there.

I bet we all know a lot more about it in a few weeks.

We will learn only what they are willing to release.

It will be a complete shit show as it has been so far.....they do not disappoint in that aspect do they ?

@earthquake Correct, 488 YARDS is BULL.
How easily we spread crap we find on the interweb.
A poor measurement might have shown 488 FEET if the 2nd USSS team took the shot.
Now, a sniper could have placed a 488yd head shot but not here.
500yd F-Class "X" easy peasy, even with a 5mph full value wind.
Even I can get them, some of the time :)

Here's a 488 yard radius circle. So where was the sniper that took the shit bag out?

I like your aerial view. Note the water tower and how close it is to the rooftop where the would-be assassin was. It is that white circle just to the right of the building and parking lot. It is close, and much higher than anything else. One guy, good binoculars, a radio, a bottle of water, and a scoped rifle, posted for about two hours. What would that cost?

Hell, I bet a bunch of snipershide guys could have volunteered to sit up there with their PRS rifles and a Schmedium game changer for free.

A car is about 20 feet long (feet, not yards). Use the cars in the parking lots for distance estimation. A ballistic app on your iPhone could have figured out the downward angle's effect on the trajectory and dope. Maybe an angle compensating laser range finder, especially if you forgot high school trigonometry. Anyway, if the angle caused you to shoot ever so slightly over the skinny long haired "I hate Republicans; I hate Trump" but his motive is unknown shooter, use the reticle to aim slightly under him and try again. At that close distance, it would not be a difficult shot, though. The trajectory of the bullet is not as affected because the downward shot is a percentage of the distance (20 degrees down = 94% roughly), and that is less than 100 yards, so we are talking fractions of an inch. A reticle centered on him would hit.

EDIT: The post right above this one shows the water tower even better. Look at how close it is.

The Mazda dealership could have been a good "midrange" position and provide cover from the front.
If they couldn't cover 150 yards in their "PLAN" I doubt they had anyone across the highway.

The USSS plan seems to be limited to inside the venue. That's their domain.
Outside the venue, Local and State should have been (were) assigned outside the venue.
What was the comm path between agencies?
Would you WANT all police on the SAME comm channel?

Agreed. DRT at 500. 100%. Seen for a few minutes. Could settled in, dry fired a few times then wait for the code 100.
