Hey everyone, (admin move this thread if needed)

Wyatt Barber here with an exciting update from MullerWorks Barrels. We've been working hard behind the scenes, and I'm thrilled to announce that we've reduced our lead times to just three to four weeks!

Whether you're looking for rimfire or centerfire barrels. We offer both cut-rifled and button-rifled options, all crafted to the highest standards. Custom barrels made to order and proven by some of the best shooters around.

Thank you to everyone that has waited for our barrels in the past and now are in a position where you won't have to wait long!

If you have questions or want to talk about possibly getting something in the works, email me ([email protected])

Regards
Wyatt Barber
MullerWorks Manufacturing

I don't understand, I thought I read on the website you would only take orders from ffls.
I'd love to order a barrel direct and not have to try and catch them in stock at bugholes, plus they only list button barrels and I want cut rifled.
I don't actually chamber the blank, but I know 2 gunsmiths but their policy is customer must supply the blank.

That still seems to be their published policy:

MullerWorks sells barrels to rifle system manufacturers and qualified gunsmiths plus a limited number of distributers.
Manufacturer and qualified gunsmith orders are accepted via email: [email protected]. Gunsmiths must provide a legible copy of your current Federal Firearms License (FFL) if we do not have already on file.
For individual sales, our two primary distributers are Greg Young at Southern Precision Rifles for centerfire and rimfire barrel order (bugholes.com) and Paul Tolvstad at Lakeside Barrels, who handles rimfire barrel orders exclusively (you can connect with him on Facebook at MullerWorks Rimfire Rifle Barrels or send an email to [email protected]).

On this bugholes page I see two button rifled barrels (both 22RF) and a whole, whole bunch of other cut rifled barrels.

my googlefu can't find any of the cut rifled 22 rf blanks they sell.
they could sell more barrels if they make it clear how a random idiot(like me) can order a cut rf blank for their local smith.
fwiw most people buying these around here are looking at straight 1.25 contour.

lol...what we have here is a failure to communicate (Cool Hand Luke...yeah? haha).

YOU cannot order a cut rifle or any other blank from Muller as I read their policy.

YOUR gunsmith can

In case you never saw it:

I think the problem here is earlier (top quote) you didn’t state to the group you wanted a 22RF barrel. So I was just pointing out that they sell plenty of cut-rifled barrels.

I have bought a Mueller barrel from bugholes. They said if I wanted a special twist (something they didn’t stock) that they could order it from Mueller. That’s what I would do if I were you.

If you don’t want to do that…looks like you gotta find a different manufacturer. 🤷‍♂️

We are in the process of selling directly to customers, I will post a link to our website page to order directly when we are ready to take orders.

Thank you....that clarifies the situation with your post above versus what's on your site wrt to ordering.

But it did give me an opportunity post a relevant great clip from Cool Hand Luke! 😜

Appreciate the update 👍

Very nice, Wyatt. I'm guessing that Lights Out is your retail outlet....or, at a minimum your retail partner?

In any case, best of luck with your new retail operation and I'll def give you a look when I next order a SS barrel.

Cheers

I can't say for sure but my gunsmith told me they use a different finish than what I'm accustomed to on my bartys.(I'm very new to rimfire)
he mentioned an almost ribbed bore instead of the mirror finish for centerfires. something about potentially acting better with the lubed ammo maybe.
I could have misheard some of the details to be blunt.
perhaps this process they do for rimfire blanks is more time consuming.
perhaps they realize they're the only good rimfire game in town.
I paid and have no regrets lol, I'd rather pay an extra 50$ and not have to wait 14 months on the folks at krieger to do the same thing. As you say a rimfire barrel should last a minute.
Mullers are known to be good rimfire blanks. I had a Bart cut by a very good smith with a very good well known chamber spec on a rimX, wouldn't shoot anything worth a shit tried 10-12 different match grade subsonic ammos. My last 2 Bart experiences have been so bad, with zero help from them, they aren't even an option anymore. Replaced the Bart with a Ace that's cut with the same chamber, and it shoots everything well to fantastic. Then again, every Vudoo has an ace screwed onto it. Best of luck with your muller! PS, if someone's looking for a carbon wrapped Muller barrel, Pederson Precision has em. He wraps Mullers and rock creeks. I have a few the carbon Mullers he made, and they shoot really well, and the finish of the carbon is 10x better than Bart. Won't chip/snag, also doesn't bleed resin and shrink at the shoulders in the cerakote oven.

I deleted my post because I hate to quote stuff I heard on a live firing range with adrenaline pumping through my veins.
I will say that I placed my order the 27th and I've been in contact with Wyatt and some or much of the work has been done.
if they told me that 40$ blank upcharge was just for the speed I'd have paid it in a heartbeat.
no ragrets
buy the MW blank.
build the gun.
